Just looking for info on Woos rm48 mower, front wheels won't rotate properly and drag sideways. I'm thinking of skids for the front for irregular surfaces.

Did you purchase this mower new? I don't think a woods RM48 is supposed to have front wheels.

Look for the pins that hold the 3 point hitch arms on. When I have my land pride mower on, and I back up, if my pins have backed out the wheels hit them and wont rotate backwards.
Hi, no, I just traded off a David Bradley and some cash to give me a back up and for swaleing out the back yard. I read on another site that front wheels were an option, this one had front wheels and were bolted with carriage bolts in square holes in the deck, so I believe them to be factory. I think I'll just remove them and fabricate skids to keep the ends from digging in.
Hi, thanks, everything is pretty tight and probably needs to tilt back for them to work. A bigger tractor might have more room, but then the 48 would probably be too narrow. Other sites have suggested chains to regulate the front, but my tractor doesn't have any place to hook chains that would work and the fenders aren't heavy enough. I've got everything else sorted (correct rotation blades etc.) and really think skids are the answer. I had a 48 inch deck on a 446 case and the skids kept it fron digging in in uneven ground. There are adjustable plates on each front corner so if I bolt to them I will have some leeway to get to the right height.
