69F and sunny @ 09:30 ... headed up to a high of 81F ... extended forecast says pretty nice for the next five days or so, mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70's to low 80's ... with some clouds and a slight possibility of a shower on Thursday.
The woman and I got 4 oak trees and another clump of pampas grass transplanted yesterday. The oaks ranged in height from 6' up to around 10' or so. Would have posted pics, but the TBN file uploader doesn't seem to be working. Woman was disappointed that she didn't have more days off, as we were on a roll by the time we finished up last night.
Be interesting to see if they make it or not ... considering that it's August. Hopefully, if I keep the soil moist, they'll survive. None of them appeared to have tap roots, but the root balls I did manage get ranged from 3' to a little over 5' wide.
I still have probably half a dozen larger oak specimens (6' or better) and quite a few smaller ones, including one that I dug up last fall when we planted the TSC bargain basement ornamentals that's just been sitting in it's clump of dirt, next to the compost pile ... can't believe that thing survived this long.
Might have to try watering before I dig on the next ones ... soil was pretty dry yesterday, which probably made it harder than it would have otherwise been.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day.
