Why not just go with 2 hydraulic side links:D

Set the bar high.

What about a fully independent suspension with hydraulics on all 4 corners? A low rider tractor, if you will?

Do you guys actually use two adjustable side links? What is the advantage? Seems to me that any single adjustable side link can tilt the implement in either direction so why have two?
The ONLY reason I do it is... because it's there.

I bought top'n'tilt after I bought my tractor. So, after removing the adjustable side link and replacing it with the hydraulic, why NOT put the adjustable on the other side?

I never expect to use it but it felt like a waste not to install it.

I started clearing off the lakeshore at the end of my point.

Mossy oak.

Different angle.

Nice, hard sand bottom.

As soon as my tractor hit the beach, a neighbor boated over to introduce himself mostly trying to figure out what I planned to do with the property.

After eight hours of picking up deadfalls, and yanking out rootballs, I had a result.

I find that having the ability to float the side link, as well as the top link, is one of the major advantages of having them. I can see a big disadvantage to the check valve style cylinders, to the point where if I bought a tractor that had them, I'd purchase replacements.
However, the type of work I do with my tractor lends itself to that style better, whereas I'm sure the check valve style cylinders work for others, so use whatever works best in your situation .

For any of you who haven't seen what two hydraulic side links are like, you can check this thread. I can see why having two cylinders could be advantageous in some situations.

Awesome pics Eric! That lake shore is really looking nice! Good spot for a fire pit! That tractor looks is certainly earning it's keep around your place.

Comments on video:
1) You have that nice heavy boxblade hanging off the back which is contributing to the bumpy ride but you are lifting only 200lbs or less of brush in each grapple load. Why not drop the box blade while collecting brush?
2) Or, use the box blade to smooth out that trail!
3) You are not compressing the brush. It would be much more efficient to crush several "bites" of brush into a single load before carrying it to the brush pile especially since that is more than a few yards away.
4) Why back up all the way instead of turning around? Seems to be enough of a clearing to turn.

Today I also swung by and paid for a new high-cube, double-door shipping container. I don't know if $5K is a good price or not, but a problem I had was finding people willing to transport the container to my site. The seller is charging $300 to drive nearly 200 miles. I figured this a good package price wise.

Manufactured in January this year but held up by the longshoreman strike.

Any reason you bought a new one? Used are plentiful even in Michigan and cost less than half as much. Most folks get used ones for remote storage or even to convert into living space.

Thanks for the video, Eric. Looks like that suspension seat is working for you, although my lower back did still start to ache halfway through watching it.

Even before I got to the end and saw the on-screen text, your camera work reminded me of the Discovery Channel show Survivorman. Survivorman Official Website - Les Stroud No cameraman, so in most everything he did, the guy had to hike, climb and wade stretches two or three times to get the approaching and following shots. :)

Island makes some points on the bumpy trail that occurred to me as well. I suspect you still have a lot of small stumps at this stage that make it tough to smooth it out even with that heavy new BB.
