I looked all around underneath and did not find anything, so then I pulled the plastic cover off from over the trans below the instrument panel and found a connector with some wires running towards the back underneath the seat panel. Before I pull the instrument panel again (had it off before to check for any hack wiring job and to clean out the hay/mice nests the other day) I may just wait to see what kind of wiring diagrams are in the manuals when they get here. If there is no other place to check oil levels I guess I am safe to use it?

Good question. Not sure if the indicator also tells the condition of the oil or hydraulic pump. So, it's not all that easy to define safe.
