I just love that horse head cut out you used in the gate!:cool2::cool2: When my oldest granddaughter was taking riding lesson I cut this one out for her instructor.

Thats an awesome cut out ... I bet the instructor was very pleased!!

Oh she loved it! She had me cut out a bunch of these coat hooks to use in her barn.
I don't know why I didn't take any pictures of the coat hooks!

That is some great work guys..!! Too bad your shops weren't closer to Ohio, I'd send a lot of work your way..!! A buddy of mine has a steel supply business, and also has a pretty decent fab shop, but sure doesn't use it to near it's full potential. Bought a CNC table, and makes a few small things, but doesn't put it out there in the public eye enough. It's a shame, he's setting on a gold mine, but the motivation just doesn't quite seem to be there.

I don't suppose you have a web page showing some of your projects/wares..?? I joined a Facebook page that has horse owners, mostly trail rider's, all over the U.S. I could always post some of your pictures on that page, and a couple of the more local pages. Some info on services provided, and contact info could get you a few jobs to do.

If just one or two would happen to post pictures of a completed project they had you make, it could generate quite a bit of work. Who knows..??

It does get boring ... I don't mind the clean up .. I get very little dross 99.9% of the time quick once over with the wire wheel and done. That is on lighter material ... 3/8 and above a quick tap on the edge it usually pops off.

I ran a Dremel grinder with an 1/8" rotary burr over every cut inch. Just to make sure the paint would adhere to the steel.

My plasma is a Longevity Forecut 62i ... I paid $1400 for it. I snagged a table from Lightning CNC just before they went out of business .. The 5x10 table with computer and software was $4200 with shipping.

I had issues with the table but managed to get extra parts before they finally closed shop ... I added a water pan to half the table, Proma THC and a floating head. The nice thing about the table is that parts are common ... motors, gears, tracks ETC ... not hard to keep them going!!

I build alot of hay grapples ... was farming out the parts to a local shop and then one day I just started researching tables and cutters and realized that the amount of money I was spending in town was foolish.

I was very lucky and located a guy on another forum that was running a Longevity 80i on a table that he built and between my friend thats a computer wiz and that guy we spent alot of time on the phone... with his knowledge and help we came along at a real nice pace.

The artwork just kinda fell into place we cut up several pieces and put them in the local flea market ... setup at the amish sale and put a few pictures online and along with the walkin customers we just kinda keep getting asked to cut things!!!

Water jet units are fairly reasonable, but a laser table can get mega expensive. The local steel shop in town has one that costs about $250,000.
