I spent a couple of days clearing our place and some neighbours' places.

Nice set up, I'm thinking about adding chains too. What's your opinion? Are they worth the effort?

Today it's very cold for us at -15C (5F). We've only had 10cm (4") of snow so far this season and a couple of very light dustings. Another 5-10cm (2-4") forecast for tomorrow.

You may have to add spacers to clear fenders. How is that cab working out for you? Are you ready for the next round of snow tonight and tomorrow?

I'm curious. I live south of I-70 in Indiana. Not much snow, but colder then a well diggers behind. Got down to -6 last night. A lot of businesses are closed or on two hour delay because of the cold. You guys in the UP, is everything shut down? Here the roads are clear, just cold.
I can remember as kid going to school looking like Ralphies brother with my snow suit on, 2nd or 3rd grade I moved up to thermal underwear. Schools didn't close because it was cold.

Got only 3" on ground now but we're suppose to get 2-4 today, had 7 below last night with 24 below wind chill.Going through a lot of firewood!! Won't mind being a snowbird down in Florida right now!

We only have 2 wood stoves for heat in an old farm house. Its usually 14° when we get up and keep it around 20 normally. I think tonight I'll be sleeping on the couch and trying to keep the fires going all night. A bad batch of wood this year has compounded the problem

I am just north of you UP Guy (across the ditch as they say)........snow streamers off the lake are going to hit us again tonight , but after Lake Superior freezes it should get better !!

Got about 3-4" of snow the storm that rolled through a few days ago. Enough to get out and log 18hrs of plowing.

-7*F this morning. Supposed to be that cold again tomorrow for the low. Only 5*F now.

That -7 is ~ -22*C

Thats bad since only about a week ago we were pushing 60*F ( ~16*C)

Chains make a world of difference UP Guy. My clearing is mainly on inclines and I would have a tough time pulling the blower without them.

My DK35 has tight clearances so it made fitting chains difficult. I started with DUO's and found the gaps between the patterns too large. So I modified them as shown in this thread:

and am happy with them now. If doing it again I would likely go with Aquiline, Trygg or Tellesfdals that have a continuous pattern around the tire's diameter.

I used small chains for the fronts.

I think most will agree that chains dramatically increase traction..

If your are interested you may want to start a thread asking for opinions for your tractor and tires. I found it took a lot of testing and adjusting to get something to work. My dealer quit selling chains because they are so difficult to fit for everyone. He now directs the customers to a local supplier.

We got down to -32F the night before last. Last night it warmed up....-25F and there is more snow coming to add to the 2' we have now. I sure am glad I got a cab with heat.

I'll take your word for it, I was only eyeballing from the scale on google maps and getting about 45 miles to the bridge

Had 2ft drop the other day and then -17*F with windchills to -35. Warmer today, thanks, but forecast is btwn 2.5-4.5 ft of more snow.
I'd blame the **** lake, but my MF1528 sits in the garage with a 62" blower...
