-4 this morning and headed to 24 today. That's a nice warmup if the wind will die and it makes it. Yesterday the windchill stayed around 0. High of 14 and winds 15-20. Current windchill is -16.

Boy is trying to get sick so guess I may end up at doctor with him. For a toddler he hasn't been sick much bet we've seen doc more for well visits and shots than we have with him sick.

Make up a pizza on a pan then wrap some foil on top and place on the stove. IE, this is still in experimental stage.

How did the pizza turn out? I've never tried pizza but have eat plenty of soup and chilli off of wood stoves growing up.

Good Morning. 0840, 23F {11F windchill} with 54% humidity @ the Larro Ranchero, 24F {18F windchill} with 52% humidity here in Blountstown. Forecast high of 43F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and lows of 22F/25F tonight. It got down to 19F at the house and 22F here in town. The wind was really bad during the night, but has calmed down to 9-10 mph now. I have office relief today, so I had to get out in it early. But when I got to work the cleaning guy had a nice fire burning in the lobby fireplace.

Everyone stay warm and safe,

Larro

Around 10 early this morning and wind chill near 0 last night. Predicted high for today of 31. Typical stuff for you guys up north but not for us. I don't know how you guys handle it up there. And I am a guy who likes winter. I guess it's what you get used to.

Be well (and WARM!) all!

Do you guys ever wonder how prehistoric man coped with bitter winter weather and wearing animal skins for clothing and shoes while having to go out and hunt for his dinner.....? No way any of us could have done that....

That's why a old guy was 30 something. I think I made a mistake not moving to Florida....:)

Got the 'bota cookin' and decided to run down to the saw shop to pick up the nut and label plate for the on/off switch on the 031AV ... grabbed a can of that Seafoam Magical Mystery Juice while I was there. Then I stopped by Autozone to pick up the Power Service White. They were out ... so I got some Howes instead.

On the way back in I stopped by the shop and grabbed half an oak log for the house.

After I took everything in I went back out to start the Kubota. The needle in the temp gauge rose a little bit when I turned it on but it really didn't wanna start ... but it finally did and sounded really bad ...

It's sitting out there now idling, with both PTO's running to warm up the juice ...

I gonna put off the wood gathering as long as I can to let it warm up outside a little.

64°F and no rain last 24 hours. Plenty of overcast yesterday, but still dry.

My sometimes helper, Glen scheduled to come over today so it's back on the roof on my solar HW project as long it wx permits. I'm not really fond of working off a ladder or on the roof, better to have someone around to help.

TxDon, got some of the HD mold and mildew cleaner. Didn't read the back that said not to use on vinyl, but did anyway. Really pleased with the results. If I hadn't already bought the paint and decided on changing the color, I could be happy, but now it's a project with a life of it's own LOL

Sorry to hear murph. I was hoping you had luck. If you ever try it again might think of a pizza stone. Just warm it first. It works better if preheated.

If you have cast iron with a lid, you could give that a try too. Seems the lid would get almost as hot as the pan, so the toppings should cook.

Back to the drawing board Murph.

Murph, did you try flipping it?

The foil doesn't sound right, I think it would make soggy pizza. There are such things as stove top ovens. Basically a sheet metal box with ventilation.

Since you are an adventurous cook, I will save you the heartache and spousal ire of trying to toast flour tortillas on a ceramic cooktop. Looked like a hot rock to me. :confused3:

Boys, boys, I'm in Missouri a few days, 5° this morning! Windchill -15°! Me old bones canno' take it. But I saw that even Miami was only 65°. Whole world is cold. Me old truck fired right up, but she was like me, groaning, complaining about that thickened fluid in her veins.

Flipping it works great for the dough if you make it from scratch...we do use a pizza stone for our ready made crusts and the thin ones work best at 9 minutes total cooking time in a preheated oven. A common mistake is to spread the sauce too thick. Here is a picture of one of our home made pizzas for you guys to drool over...mozzarella and cheddar cheese, pine nuts, sun dried tomatoes, pepperoni, chopped onions and a pair of chopped garlic bulbs with chopped green peppers and fresh mushrooms...and of course sauce and crust.
