I have the exact same blower as yours. Problem free for 15 or so years until 2 years ago when I had to replace the bearings on the outer ends of
the augers and on the input shaft. They are cheap and was no big deal. No gearbox problems so I will be anxiously watching to see how you make out.

New info. I believe the shaft itself sheared? I unbolted the gearbox from bracket and it instantly rotated. When I spin the auger what is left of the shaft in the gearbox rotates. The shaft coming from the fan has no splines on the end of it it's smooth. I can figure how to post a video.

Well I just talked to dealer. The shaft is $130 to buy. They said it would be 8 hours of labor to take gearbox apart and fix it with a new shaft!!!!
8 hours???? Total price would be about $800.00!!
That would be new bearings and seal of course. Lol.
I guess I'll try to see if I can do it myself.
Is it really that long of a job???

Sure looks like that broke awful clean and straight. Whats the deal with the chamfer on the end? Was there machine work on it at that point or did that happen after it broke? If it were me, I'd take it apart and see if I could repair it myself since you know where to buy parts. You have already got it tore down that far.

Eight hours sounds ridiculous. I'd finish taking it apart (which should be a good bit of those eight hours...) and make sure that I understand the issue, but I do agree it looks like that shaft is sheared. If that's the case, I'd buy the shaft, the seals and gaskets, and a handful of the proper shear bolts and put it all back together myself. It shouldn't be too hard since you'll have just done almost half the work by disassembling it.

Each auger has its own shear bolt' Remove and pull the augers off one side at a time.
Then you can split the gear box and pull out the broken pto shaft end.

The gear box has one side that is a cover. Try the auger on that side first as perhaps you have enough room to play.
