Tractor
white, john deere, montana, satoh, ford
I have owned and enjoyed a lot of popular vintage tractors during the past 10 years. One of the first things I do is check and change the fluids, then go on to repair obvious defects. Eventually go on to restore original features, and improve functionality without impacting original condition of tractor. I've found over the years that almost all problems I've encountered with my "toys" were not caused by poor quality manufacture, but rather by abuse or neglect of previous owners - lack of maintenance, poor storage, unsuitable usage. I wish reviewers would consider the reason for equipment failure before they condemn the machine or the manufacturer. Even the best built machines will fail prematurely if mistreated and neglected. I love using my collection, showing what they can do, and always point out that after 50 years of service they are capable of providing another 50 years of enjoyment.

PLEASE, PLEASE post some pictures. We like pictures and many of us like the old iron. Sounds like you have some interesting tractors.

Welcome to the forum vintage fred. Glad to see another old iron type of guy join the forum. I agree with you on your post. I have a believe it's a '56 or 57 oliver Super55. Absolutely fantastic tractor. When I first got it it had it's minor issues but when I drained the fluid out of the gearbox it was a pasty white and coming out in globs. Probably just from 50+ years of condensation. The tractor actually still functioned great with it but to say it was due for a change is an understatement. I think it says a lot about the quality of these older tractors.

What of the sweetest sounds in my opinion is a old gasser when you start to get the tractor under load and the governor kicks in and opens the throttle a tad more to compensate.

I'm with the rest of the guys here. Would love to see some pictures of your tractors.

Not to sound impatient, but we really would like to see your old iron pictures. If you get a chance, we would appreciate it. Thank you.

Trying to upload pics but not sure if I am doing it right. Read a lot of confusing instructions and then had to take a nap. Put 7 pics in "Attachments" below, now waiting to see if anyone can access them. Getting some good interest, hope I can figure out the picture thing before bedtime. Fred.

Very nice collection. Is the Farmall with the number taped onto it yours or the White behind it? I don't know that I have ever seen the Economy tractor. Are those truck tires on the Ford? If so, that is a good option at today's tractor tire prices. I always like those ACs, they are as just as cool as the Farmall cubs. Thank you for sharing.
