It's my understanding that things like computer technology etc came from the space program (mainly Apollo)...also battery technology that has enabled the use of an array of cordless tools etc...it was the same battery technology that greatly contributed to mobile (cell) phones...
I could be misguided about the origin of technologies but it seems to me that computers, cordless tools and cell phones are a few great advancements in technology...
And were did computers come from?... Bletchly Park... WWII.. Alan Turning... The ultra project. breaking **** codes.. That and the big one at MIT used to compute shell trajectories during WWII.. oh sure you could call Napiers Bones a computer, I suppose. but the big advancemnts in computing hardware and concepts as we know it came from World War II..
I know that at least some Texicans...as well as Okies...don't have much of a problem accepting evolution along with their faith. It's more difficult, however, if you accept only a literal interpretation of the bible.
I was referring to the first report that lead to the words fly saucer.

It takes a spark to light a fire...unless you have some linseed rags...!Oh contraire. Evolution is far more difficult to support than Creation. Evolution depends upon the acceptance of "Everything from Nothing." There are more gaps in that ludicrous theory than an old picket fence.
Agreed. This is TRAGIC. The reasoning displayed in this twisted logic can be found in the concepts of; "It takes a village." and "Redistribution of Wealth."
I encourage almost all parents to seek out private education and make the sacrifices required for funding.

Although we all know the real driver of the internet technology we all enjoy is (contrary to popular mention of a certain former vice president) pornography.
If you're against the village concept, you can't seriously support letting others teach your kid anything.
When we were kids, we roamed in packs like wild animals, but someone else's mom was always keeping an eye on us. As were all of the neighbors. Almost all parents were involved in the raising of almost all of the neighborhood kids. And my folks mentored many kids, as my folks were teachers and artists and such. That's the village concept and it works. You are your brother's keeper.

Redistribution of wealth... we'd probably agree on.![]()
Not to minimize the advances brought out of the space race. What other single endeavor brought more...in the way of things that Americans take advantage of every day...?
I'll not express this very well, but here goes.
As to the discussion of which creates more technology, War or NASA. Both are trying to escape the same inevitable truth. We will destroy our selves if left here alone. Both have the same conquer or be conquered mentality. If life was all love-ins and big hugs here on Earth, neither would be needed. But it's not. NASA is frantically looking for a way to escape Earth. WAR realizes that escapes is probably not possible so it wants to be the last one standing. Different approaches, same goal.
