Just order 2015 JD 5085M

Just ordered a new 2015 JD 5085M for spring delivery. It is load with all the bells and whistles. It will be replacing my 2002 JD 5320. Projected delivery is around March 2nd. Dealer is checking on doing the Gold Key factory tour for me.

When it gets here I will be sure to have pictures. First thing I will have to do is take the exhaust stack off and get it chrome like the 5320. I am a hobby farmer and use my farm as a toy. It keeps me busy through the week when all my buddies are still working. Everybody makes fun of me because all my fence lines are weedeated but that's OK because I get compliments on my place all the time. Everybody says it is so neat and clean.

Trans control modulated, R-4 tires because all my fields look like lawns. You get a lot of extras with the premium cab so I didn't have to add much.

When I first got the 5320 I took the stack off and had it chrome. My youngest son is into drag racing and he has all his parts on the dragsters chrome at a local shop. So when the tractor gets here I will do the same again. Plus if the air conditioning doesn't keep the cab cool in July, August cutting days I will have the windows tinted. As you can see this is just one of my toys. Remember "The guy with the most toys wins" LOL.

Ohhh--all the right bells and whistles. You will never want to leave the cab.
I'll bet you can buy a very small fridge that fits in there.

A friend of mine is retire AF. He weedeats 3/4 mile of barbed wire fence. But what would you expect from an Air Force bum (I'm retired Army).

Just a update for everyone. Got a e-mail today from dealer, he said delivery will be around March 7th. Been looking on U Tube trying to find videos of new 5085m not much luck. So the waiting continues.

Did they drop from 16x16 trans to a 12x12 for 2015? Even if your fields are smooth R1's would ride better due the super thick sidewall of R4's. If you're doing mostly field work you might want to rethink those R4's.

No, I made a mistake and didn't prove read my post. It is coming with a 16x16 trans. I thought real hard on the tires but I had R4 on the 5320 and I like them. I have only one bad spot on the farm that is real steep and that is back by the burn pile. Outside of the one spot the land is typical northern ky ridge land rolling hills.
PS rim guard in tires not wheels. LOL

If you've had them before then you know what you're getting, you'll be fine. They will probably be wider than R1's and many times wider is great. Be sure to post some pics when it comes in.

I just looked at the build page at Deere and it looks like you're going save quite a bit of money going with R4's as it now comes standard with R1 Radials. I didn't know they had made some pretty decent changes to the 2015 model.

The 5065M my wife and son bought was actually bought because it was an end of the run deal, $32K for 2WD 16x16 trans, Power Reverser and Cab. No one else could come close to that deal. It was bought mainly for tedding, raking and for the JD BD1108 Grain Drill but it actually does a good job of pulling the NH H7220 DiscBine. I think JD underrates their PTO HP.

It here Guys, Arrived Friday afternoon went over to the dealer this morning to look it over. I will take pictures next week when they deliver it to the farm. They have to prep it this week and put rim guard in the tires should get it by the end of the week. To wet to get in the fields so no need to rush it. Pictures coming.

Hi Blonde, we're in the same situation, our 2015 5115M just came in and they are processing it and installing Rimguard as well. Is yours Tier IV as well? We have a DEF tank as part of the fuel tank. Good luck.
