Please share some advise. I'm getting a massey ferguson model 43 two bottom plow. The rear plow has the long landslide that the trailer wheel bolts to. The landslide is bent in making the trailer wheel run not in a straight line had it not been bent. Will this plow ok or will the wheel make it not go straight? Should i take the landslide off and heat it and beat it back straight or just buy a new landslide. It's a 14 inch double plow and it's in great shape other than this faulty landslide. It almost looks like someone bent it on purpose. I don't see how the landslide could bend since it's about quarter inch thick. How could it have bent without the rest of the plow getting bent ? I sure would appreciate any input you can offer.

It may have bent if the previous owner backed into something. I'd heat it and bend it back to where it should be,

When you are creating a new post, one way to add pics is to scroll down to manage attachments (click on that), then add attachments, click browse and find the pic you want to add, if you want more than one pic click add and get another, when your done click upload then done. You can preview post before you submit. Try to keep pic sizes in the kb size as they load quicker. Huge megabyte pics take a long time to load. If you use Windows you can use picresizer for windows to reduce the byte size.

I just did a Google search of ..... massey ferguson model 43 two bottom plow.....

Found several pictures.... Some show the long land side plate bent away from the side wall of the furrow at the top...
Others show the land side wheel on an arm behind the long strait land side plate....
One picture showed a couple bolt holes in the land side plate...

I wonder if you just are not missing an attaching arm or bracket of some kind for the land side wheel...

Good luck...

This plow has the long landslide that sticks out 8-10 inches with the furrow wheel mounted to the inside of the landslide. I've never seen a plow bent in from the rear of the landslide. The wheel turns. I will try and make some pics in the am. Thanks to all of u and your input.

use it and see how it works, then worry about it being bent might not be anything wrong

Ok I guess that's the best thing. I will give it a go and see how she does. I just really didn't know the function of the furrow wheel

I looked at the CL picture. I think that is the correct position for the trailing wheel (rolling landside). It's meant to push against the bottom edge of the furrow, with the wheel on an angle so only the bottom portion contacts the soil. The bottom edge should be in line with the edge of the landside. It looks like a nice plow.

I believe you are absolutely correct about the wheel being on an angle as that is exactly how my 3 bottom plow is, that is why I asked for a pic. of his plow as it is probably the way it should be .

I just looked at the cl pic and that is the way it should be in my opinion , it is at about the same angle as my 3 bottom . Looks to be in decent shape , go plowing with it . Every thing attachments gives some good hints on setting one up if you need help in that area .

You can all now see the rear furrow wheel. if you click on the pic it will enlarge. It does show it bent inward. Is the
bottom of the wheel only supposed to touch the new furrow wall that the landslide creates as it goes through the soil? I guess that's why they made the wheel to lean in at an angle.

looks okay to me

If the landside is bent, as it could be according to your picture, then the wheel could be too. I guess someone could do that if they didn't lift the plow at the end of a pass, and turned right, pushing the landside and rolling landside into the fresh cut edge of the furrow. Could be heated and straightened if that was the case.
