If you know me you know Cimaf is the only cutter I will run until now. Don't get me wrong, I love the Cimaf, but got to give Fecon a pat on the back this DCR is awesome. I have been running a Fecon Dcr for 50hrs now and I'm highly impressed. So Far I haven't found anything she won't cut, on larger trees it seems to cut with ease. I think its mainly do to the larger rotor diameter, doesn't seem to loose moment as fast as other heads I've ran it the past. The 2 pines in the picture were 28" and 31" at the stump the smaller one was processed in 16 minutes and the larger one took 18 minutes. I'm hoping to get 60-80hrs per side on the teeth (120-160hrs on set) so far there is 51Hrs on the teeth now in the picture. I've sharpened them 3 times so far worst time took me 20 minutes which ain't bad if you ever sharpened teeth before. I'm located deep down south an I don't care what you do down here sand is you worst enemy. When it comes to teeth, as fast as these rotors turn you don't even have to get the drum in the dirt. The rotor will lift sand into the drum like a vacuum which cause teeth to wear faster so I'm very happy with the results so far. I would suspect guys further north in heavier soil to see even high wear hours may 80-100 hrs per side. The DCR process even with dull teeth thanks to the counter teeth, so far no complaints extremely happy with it. Give the guys at Fecon a call, tell them the Cimaf lover sent you LOL!

I told you, somebody is finally listening and tried it. I was thinking they wanted me to try it for them.

What did you sharpen them with?

How much is a DCR head?

I use a Honda 2000 generator and 7" angle girder with 40 grit flip disc, Give Bob Candee with Fecon a Call he can either sell u one or put you in contact with your nearest dealer (513) 490-0061

Sounds good but why is the price such a big secret? Southeast US price for a single unit???

We were about 6 weeks early on our 2 new heads to get this rotor. I tried, but was told they were not ready.

28k is the ball park for the bh74 with dcr base model, you can add hyd push bar, hood- door add little more $$$ to tht price I would love to see wat this head would do with a door on it tho think all u would be left with would be saw dust.

Do they have tungsten teeth for these rotors? Where I work has about 80% rock and so over changing teeth on the old style rotor, can't use a rattle gun.

Tonyoz, I won't see y u couldn't it's basically the fgt rotor but it has depth control rings welded to it. Should be able to run the fgt series carbides on it.

impressive and very nice work pics too.

What's the specs on that 299d? Is the Fecon a variable torque head?

I'm in the same boat as TonyOz. Rock just about everywhere. Started running knives on the middle of my FAE drum but have been trying to get a demo on fecon for almost 8 months without luck. My Bobcat dealer just started selling Fecon but has none in stock to demo and they don't rent them.
My next nearest dealer is 5 hours away which makes a rental tough but I sure would like to see what a Fecon can do after 10 years running FAE style.

Yellowdogsvc, the 299d is a xhp 110hp, 40gpm @ 4100psi and the fecon has a rexroth variable displacement motor

I wound up getting 65 hours out of one side, before I flipped the teeth over. I believe if I had a hood/door, on this dcr I could have got another 10 hrs or so out of the teeth. They would still cut not great but they would cut just wouldn't process well, because of the space between wat was left of the teeth an the counter teeth. I had to go over it a few more times to get the finer size mulch, it was producing with the teeth in better shape. The hood/door would solve tht problem, but if I can average 65 hrs per side I going to be a happy camper.

Defiantly got the best out of them lol, but they still were cutting tho. Just didn't think they would last another full day, Lynn Hendrix sells the Samurai for $31.50

So ~$7.27/hr on tooth wear.... that's pretty good, only a little higher than my stump grinder. I wonder how long the depth control disks will last.

Another benefit of having a door/hood on your mulcher is that you can get a smaller product with less passes saving a whole lot of track wear if working hourly or time if working contract.:2cents: :D

Ok. guys bear with me I am new to this community so if i screw up this first post cut me some slack. I was doing some research on a value of a trade in Fecon ftx90fm and came across this post and could not help but find a way to communicate some new changes in mulching. Yes these companies you refer to have made some good machines but there is a way better and more efficient and cost effective ways. Prinoth / AHWI, our machines have patented mechanical drive technology that will outperform any hyd. driven machine in the market. Longer tool life, higher production. I have a RT200 in the yard with our rock tooth and have over 50 hr. hardly any tooth wear. I have ran one of our raptor 800's in Texas that has 450 hrs. On the teeth and they still have not been flipped over. I challenge you look at you tube under Prinoth AHWI RT200 or raptor 800 and see what you think we are doing live demos in Texas and Oregon if want to see what is new.

how do you figure tooth life is excellent fuel consumption is lower, engergy transfer is better,no over heating in hot weather, is the purchase price what makes you think they are exspensive?

Texas is a big place. What part of Texas? In my area, tooth wear is a big issue (TX Hill Country) with limestone and flint rock and rock hard dead oaks.
