Good morning!!!!

today is going to be a cool 72 degrees. Yesterday we had nearly 4 inches of rain and its the wettest July we ever had. I don't think I'll be able to mow for over a week due to standing water and more rain is on the way this week. Last week I was at my father's place and learned that a late first hay cutting was done and they ended up with 47 round bales this year compared to 42.not looking forward to more rain as my kids want to take go carts out on the hay fields and it will be muddy. They probably will not run the carts this year to avoid ripping up the alfalfa.

Good morning all. missed this morning's temp already to 67F and sunny. Forecast is for 80F and light north breeze. NO rain. Yesterday after cleaning the garage and running errands no mowing got done. So back on mowing and wood detail today.

60 degrees, overcast, and decidedly cool.

Just came down from the shed to grab a bite to eat before taking a quick nap before the truck from R & L Carriers gets here.

Worked all night in the shed last night again. Managed to get the last section of pegboard put up and the holes drilled in the floor for the drill press. Went to bolt it down and found out that out of all the fasteners I have I don't have the correct length bolts ... pretty funny. Got the pull-down stairs to the attic more or less straightened out from when my nephew had nailed them up ... and racked 'em ... having a bit of problem with the plywood cover ... it's warped/curled at one and won't completely close/seal. Cut a couple of pieces of 1 1/2" aluminum angle to see if I can force it straight. Also got the trim for the opening cut. Have to foam around the stairs and then I can put up the trim.

Unpacked the order from Surplus Center ... the hydraulic cylinders I choose for the grapple look bigger than what I thought they would ... definitely beefy. I'd like to dive into that project but I'm not gonna do it until I finish straightening up and putting things away ... well, mostly anyways.

Got the reflectors/covers for two of the 8' light fixtures cleaned and put up ... they were covered with residue ... probably overspray from painting and welding smoke ... used some rubbing compound and they cleaned right up. Also got the one fixture relocated to the center of the shed.

It got cold enough last night that I fired up the wood stove ... seemed like a good idea at the time ... but within 10 or 15 minutes I had my shirt off and the door open. At least I got rid of some of the scrap wood.

Supposed to rain this afternoon. Will have to run to Home Depot later for bolts and some other odds and ends.

Good Morning. 1125, sunny, 85F {101 heat index} with 87% humidity. Forecast high of 89F with 0% chance of rain this afternoon, and a low of 68F tonight. I'll be testing that rain forecast by going on the river with the canoe this afternoon:D I'm taking a couple of rods and my tackle, but I don't know how much fishing I will do.

A couple three weeks ago Mamma loaned my crazy cousin {the one who helped me with the pressure washing last year} $400 to buy a very used ZTR. It had to go in the shop, and when it was fixed, the bill was $75. He didn't have the money to pay Mamma back, or to get it out of the shop. So she paid the $75 and now she has a very used ZTR. At 86 years old, she will be sitting and watching me and Sister do the mowing. It belonged to a good family friend who's SIL worked for the state. He picked it up at auction after the state was done with it, and gave it her. She used it for a while, but has such a small yard that when it wouldn't run anymore, decided to sell it rather than have it fixed. I had just cut her grass with the B1750 and Woods mower, so I haven't tried out this one yet. I will report in when I do.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Larro

Well, ended up buying a Deere z920A mower. Fairly lightly used...264 hours. It should be delivered tomorrow sometime.
The local dealer (where I bought the Zero Turn Z920A) also had a diesel F1145 on the lot. That one was a little less money but had definitely been around the block a time or three. I did try it out though...do love those Yanmar diesels!
But, I wanted a mower for speed of mowing and the z920A had that all over the F1145.

The 4400 and RFM will be used for mowing the field. The 4400 will be used for snow removal, brush cutting and loader work...I'll just be putting a lot less hours on it.
BTW, the dealer had a nice 4300 Sync-Reverser for sale...192 hours!!!!! Boy, good thing I didn't have $12K in my pocket!!! Any locals (Vermont or New Hampshire) interested, it's a Trottier's in South Royalton.

50 right now and a high of 75 today...looks to be a beautiful day ahead of us.

Looks like I was the last one to post yesterday and the first to post today. That Zero-Turn is to be delivered today sometime. Maybe I'll have a chance to give it a try out this afternoon!
BTW, either I misread the price on the 4300 or the dealer upped it...it's listed at $14K

boy Roy you are going to be bookin' today.
just remember that machine will go faster than you may be comfortable driving; the Ferris I had went way faster than I could drive the unit. Guess if it was on a ballfield you could run like that.
I think those specs of five acres an hour are silly; there must not be one tree or obstruction and the land is totally flat.
congrats and have fun with your new mower and I hope it does lower the total mow time.
