Welding supplies I http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/welding/83063-welding-supplies.html
was in 2006.

Time for a new one.

Where to buy online? Amazon? Cybereweld? Welderssupply?

Right now I need some of the startup materials, better helmet, better gloves.

First on my list is 50' 8 gauge or better 240V extension cord. Cyberweld seems to have it.

Any other better places?

Not necessarily related to the exact part...as I scanned the site for it and did not see it, but Weldfabulous is coming on strong. 10 TIG cups for 1.00....and other crazy cheap deals. I also think for consumables, welding gauges, torches of all descriptions, river-weld.com is a reputable company direct shipping from China. They have all manner of decent quality (top for some, lesser for others...but for the price) parts and consumables. Shipping is fairly quick too according to many of my customers. I've never used it, but one of the guys in the company has bought a good bit and never had an issue with some off brand stuff we don't carry.

This is the lowest price I could find on the extension cord to get me out of the garage to do my welding. It looks to be the the same cord as others sell, but at a better price.

8 3 50' 220 Volt 50 Amp Heavy Duty 8 3 Welder Extension Cord MIG TIG Plasma | eBay
Thanks, good link. in for 2 25 footers.

Now any good link for things like plug adapters? I've a couple of sites that only have 40AMP 240V dryer plugs. I'd like to find some place that packaged a kit of the commonly found US 240V plugs, like the travel kits you can get for foreign countries.

I use Google Shopping to search for the best price.
Google Shopping
Thanks but "google shopping" is virtually useless to me without recommendations on what vendors are good.

newbury...weld fabulous does have plug adapters.
Thanks Mark.
Any clues for search terms?

/edit - I'm just trying to get out of buying about a dozen plugs and 12 feet of cord and making 6 of my own "crossover" cables.
And I'm just starting to learn the differences between ground and neutral needs on 240V

I have found TSC too be better than Lowes/Home Depot/Harbor Freight. Think 5# of 3/32 6011 where $2 less; and came in a rod holder. Hobart brand vs Lincoln at Lowes/Home Depot in cardboard box. Harbor Freight was like $10 for 2#... or about x1.5 the others. I don't buy 25# so no idea how prices scale vs LWS/industrial supply

I'm waiting for Shield Arc to have a garage sale. He's got enough equipment to supply a small army so I'm sure he'd have what ever I needed. For a few bucks more, it would come with professional instruction on how to use it.:cool2: The 80 ton cranes a little small but would handle most of my projects. ;)I'd let him keep his first AC/DC welder though because it's obvious it has a lot of sentimental value. :D The 1937 Idealarc is up for grabs though.:cloud9:
