I've got a few pics from my tour to Savant lake last year. Savant Lake is 1/2 way between Pickle Lake and Ignace, ON. I gotta watch out for Mooses even down here where I am. I suppose should start a new thread.

Well, so much for Plan B - no slab today. Not having enough material, I went to HD, figuring I'd get enough Quikcrete to finish my slab, no expecting them to not have enough. Plan C, up early tomorrow, trip to quarry then back home to mix and pour. Will cost me an extra day rental for the bull float

Not sure when I posted here last...

I mowed like crazy yesterday. much of the grass was so long I had to mow it twice!

The weather has been AMAZING, I've had every window open constantly for almost 3 days. Actually NEEDED a blanket last night!

Our Pastor retired and gave his final sermon today (he was here for 34 years) and there was a picnic afterwards. It was very nice.

After I got back home I switched out implements until I had the grapple ad bush hog on. I bush hogged for a couple hours.

Now I'm drinking scotch I got for my birthday and debating what to eat...

We cleaned out the goat shed and chicken barn today. Got it all shoveled out, then washed it down. This gives me a good compost pile, it will take 2 or 3 years to rot up. Then I cleaned up my neighbor's place a bit. A appraisor is coming tommorrow, and I wanted to make the place look better. It looked pretty sad, the family had come and grabbed a bunch of stuff, but left a mess behind. Hopefully, we will have good neighbor's coming in, I've met them, they seem alright. Tommorrow, I have my workout, then I have some mowing to do.

David, it sounds like you are having a good time. Don't be in a rush for anything, I think it will all work out. You not working is really gonna send the ex to be into a bad place...

32 right now...a real drop in morning temperatures! The high today is going to be 64 with a 10% chance of rain.

Sunday was a beautiful day...bit cool and breezy, but beautiful. I mowed the field (finish mower) and tried to mow some bamboo with my cutter. The ground under the bamboo was way too sandy (a result of Hurricane Irene and flooding a few years ago) and I was rutting the ground more then mowing the bamboo. I was more successful in mowing other areas too rough for the finish mower.
There's also a lot of downed trees (again, from Irene) that I need to drag out....that will be good firewood.

51 degrees and heading to the high 60’s later today, but partly clouding with chance of showers.
We’re heading north today to open camp and spend the week up there, bit cooler but it will be nice to be in the mountains.
Finish putting most of the garden in yesterday, mowed the lawns, trimmed the edges and put things away for the week.
plus loading the truck for the trip north.

brrrr.....39 degrees going up to 72. Hopefully the last cold morning, though having the windows open a little is great. Unlike David/MF, if I opened all my windows I would do nothing but sneeze. For those of us allergy sufferers, the day after a rainstorm is wonderful. But then...so my house stays pretty much closed up and the whole house filtration system does a good job of cleaning the air for me. My father had to take shots for hay fever, clearly he gave the sensitivity to me. Another reason having a cab tractor now will make mowing the fields easier.

50*F & cloudy. Clouds and chance of rain most of this week with temps in the 60's. Good thing I mowed yesterday.

I need to run down some new 3/4" and 7/8" bolts to put my subframe and backhoe back together. The welding/fab shop did a nice job of rebuilding and strengthening the hoe end of the subframe that was falling apart from metal fatigue.

Morning all, was 45F when I left for work this morning, heading to a high of 70F. Got some more painting done yesterday, 2 bedroom ceilings and painted the walls on the hallway and stairway. Appraiser coming Tuesday night to give us a price on the house.

Good Afternoon. 1730, sunny, 89F {it has cooled down from a high of 91F} with 39% humidity. Forecast low for tonight is 63F, and the high for tomorrow is 88F. I did a little mowing this morning. Also made it rain on my purple hulls, cukes and melons. Hope to pickup some more soaker hoses tomorrow. You are just throwing water away when you run the sprinklers.

Not on this thread much, weather finally dried up...spend 2 hours with a push mower today, then three hours with the tractor mowing, cut down two dying 20 foot peach trees, fixed a rear flat on the tractor, then gave it a long overdue LOF...just had dinner....baked cod and fries now back to more mowing have a great evening you guys.

Larro....you are 100% right that sprinklers are not worth a bleep...water evaporates in the air, and on the surface, and much of it is wasted. Direct watering is the BEST way to do it....:thumbsup:
