Nice rant. There are certainly some out there that make all of us look bad. As a subcontractor of the plowing biz, I can say that the rants can certainly go both ways.
I plow a lot of large and sometimes busy lots. Out in the worst of conditions. You might be surprised, but I don't have enough fingers to count the number do times a car has pulled up behind me when I just made a pass and pushed up into a pile of snow. And then just sit there right behind me like they are waiting on me to move. Except the only way I can move is reverse...and then they act suprised that I want to back up like I'm the idiot.
And then there are the ones that insist on making a mess of the lot you are clearing. After opening up some drive lanes and commencing with plowing, instead of following the cleared paths, the think its cool to go like **** diagonally across the lot making a mess of the windrows. One guy in Hus big 4x4 tried to me cute but severely underestimated the 3' deep and 8' wide windrow and didn't make it. Then had the nerve to ask me if I had a chain:mur: yea, he was paying a tow company cause I refused.
Then there are those who insist on parking where you haven't plowed yet even though the lot is half clear. Just to be 2 parking spaces closer.
Or the ones who cut in front of you while you have a blade full of snow. Causing you to stop. Which makes it very difficult to get going again in wet heavy snow.
Or the ones who you see on the news complaining cause their street isn't plowed, yet pay no attention to that sign they are parked by that says no parking if snow exceeds 3 inches.
I could go on for hours but the tiny keyboard on my smartphone sucks. But being out for hours on end trying to do a job, you see a lot of stupid people. If you know anyone that plows commercial lots, just ask them to tell you some stories
