I have a 2008 L2800 tractor, with 415 hrs. It won't even try to start. I turn the ignition key to the right, the 2 red lights display, then the glow plugs light turns on, but when I continue to turn the key all the way to the right...nothing. It doesn't make any noises or even attempt to turn the motor. I made sure that the hyd. clutch peddle switch and the seat limit switches weren't stuck, they seem ok. Plenty of battery power. Can anyone please advise???:confused2:

Try with a set of jumper cables hooked to another running vehicle to be sure it isn't the battery first.

The battery was replaced in the fall. I think I'll try disconnecting it, clean up the terminals and re-connect it. If that doesn't work than I'll try jumping it. Thanks!!!

I'd vote for one of the safety switches, but check fuses too. You say the switches weren't stuck, but that doesn't mean they're working. I'd jump the switches one at a time.

Wow, great stuff you guys!!! I'll include jumping the switches in my troubleshooting. It sure seems like that may be the problem.

You did check to make sure the PTO lever was not engaged right?

If it's a HST, rock the foot pedal back and forth...

WAHOO, I got my tractor running. I jumped out the switches but that didn't fix the problem. There is a plug connection for the starter hot wire located at the battery terminal...I reseated the plug and this fixed my problem. The battery wasn't secured properly by the supplied bracket and it must have bounced around enough to yank on the plug a little. Apparently a self inflicted wound from when I changed the battery in the fall.

Thanks for all of your suggestions!!!
