Well, I had just finished grading the drive this afternoon, and was about to pull the tractor in the barn. My three point lever felt a little stiff, so I thought I'd spray a bit of grease on the linkage. I had stopped the tractor just outsie of the barn, and I'm standing beside the tractor spraying the grease down on the linkage through the lever slot. All of a sudden I hear this crunch, and realize I've leaned into the joystick, and the bucket came up right under the eave! Bent the gutter busted the fascia, and cracked a few rafter tails. Oh man, lesson learned!

I know! The Sheit always seems to come oudda nowhere! Usually just when you are feeling too good about yourself it seems!

Tore the Eavestrough off the house alot of years ago blowing snow.

Another time, hacked off the brake lines of my first car with a shovel, getting it unstuck, then drove it through the garage door!

It's all just good fun! Better then getting hurt! But, I did that again two days ago anyway. Once again, totally out of the blue!

Dontcha just love those Oh Sheit moments?! The door into my shed is 7' high, guess what happens when you forget to fold the 7.5' high ROPS! :banghead:

Yup, I almost did the same thing inside my garage (8' ceiling), working on 3 pt, turned around and the bucket was about 2' from ceiling! Gotta remember to use joystick lock! :ashamed:

It's always those end of day 5-minute fixit projects -- which I don't need to do right then -- that cause problems. I'm starting to learn to call it a day when I finish my main project, and not try to squeeze in little extras. They often come back to bite me in the butt.

Speaking of the ROPS, I have folded mine back as well. Before I even started the tractor up, I decided to top off the fuel. My tank is behind the seat, so I have to step up on the box blade, then put one foot up on the tire to brace myself to handle the 5 gallon can. As I stepped up, WHACK! I smacked my head on the folded ROPS!

Makes me glad I always fold mine all the way down!!

Of course... I also avoid filling my tractor from a 5 gallon can anytime possible!!

It started pouring rain one day and I tried to get the tractor (and myself) into the garage as quickly as possible. I forgot about the ROPS being up. You can fill in the rest. . . .

Popping wheelies trying to drive your tractor into the garage with the ROPS up probably isn't considered "normal use."

Makes me think of Oliver Hardy "Why don't you be more careful!!"

As my wife would tell you, NOBODY has ever considered me normal. :confused2:
