Hi everyone. New to the boards here.

I'm doing some research and hope to conduct online interviews with people who own UTVs / side-by-sides. The interviews will last about an hour and be by videoconference. I知 interested in finding out what you use your UTV for (hunting or even for fun), and what features you look for in a UTV. If you're interested in being involved please PM me and I値l provide more details/credentials about myself. I will compensate participants $100 for their time.

Thanks.

Not a scam. Please PM me if you are interested and I'll provide my company credentials. Essentially my team is looking to do some consumer research, and as we are located in an urban area (Los Angeles), we're looking to the forums to connect us with real people who use UTVs for their work or fun.

A scam by another name possibly?

ignusa, companies with nothing to hide usually do not hide anything. If you would come out and provide your company name and your company website it would go along way in providing credibility to your cause. In today's environment there are far more things to be wary of. You have provided information much in kind as all scams do so you are automatically being thrown in the scam bucket.

If you and your company are serious about performing this data collection you would see no problems divulging who you are.. But an hour triggers alarms to me of a scam to buy rental property or timeshares

Understand the concern. I work with an ad agency called Ignited USA - please Google us :) Those who are interested in participating, please PM me and I am happy to send you an email through my corporate email address.

Well said. I seem to recall another solicitation by a marketing research firm seeking TBN members' opinions/views. That solicitation did include a link to the company's web site, allowing members on the legitimacy of the company.

ignitedusa.com is the exact link for those who are still concerned. Happy to address any other concerns if needed. :)

I think TBN members will be more likely to participate if they are confident that they are not going to be scammed.

I would be willing to participate, but I do not have videoconferencing capabilities.

I did check out the web site and it does seem legit (with a caveat that I'm not going to bring up...yet). I'm going to do the teleconferencing.

Why don't you save yourself a lot of money and spend some time reading about UTV's here or even on another dedicated UTV forum? You'll find all you need to know, or is that too easy? :jaded:

Ignited is a marketing research/advertising firm. Presumably the firm (on behalf of its client) is interested in customer/user input on matters related to UTVs -- input that cannot be obtained from reading UTV sites. The OP says the process would take one hour, so some of the questions/issues may require followup.

Roy, when the original post contains Chinese characters and offers something for nothing, it's a sure sign. Remember, this is the Internet. :pirate:

If the OP composed the message in Word (or similar program) and used enhanced text, copying and then pasting the message to TBN would result in the strange symbols.

Participants should use their own judgement, but I don't see any prima facie evidence of a scam.

Bit of an update:
I received all the teleconferencing (via Skype) information.
However, as I'd already informed ignusa, I'd have to check to see if I could use my wife's PC, as I do not have Skype or a webcam. Turns out she hasn't used Skype in quite a while and her webcam (a old one) doesn't work.
So, I responded to ignusa and suggested a phone conference instead...the ball is now in their court.

I had mentioned a caveat about this teleconferencing in post #11. IgnUSA said they'd pay anyone willing to do the teleconference $100.....ok, that's fine. But to get the $100, I'd have to submit a W-9 form. I'm not real nuts about that. However, since ignusa would consider this a business expense and for the purposes of the teleconference, I'd be an "employee". I understand their point of view...and I am willing to do the phone conference (if they want to pursue that).

I would be interested in the questions/topics that the company will raise in the conference.

I am sure the company has to document the distribution of money it distributes to participants. IMO, the participants would receive a 1099 form rather than a W-2 form.
