Someone I know has a 5 year old 60 inch 3pt blower he`s willing to sell .
It only has about 5 hours on it but was stored outside and is starting to rust .
I want to use with my massey GC2400 .
He wants $800 for it . Would that be a fair price and what is the average prices on new ones ?

Thanks for any advice

I don't know how wide your Massey is, but if the snowblower is not at least as wide as the tractor, it will turn into a pain. I've passed on several good deals that were too narrow for my tractor. Some have put some "wings" on to get the width they need...

Thanks hawheye08, my track width is 46.9 inch

Thats a steal. New they are several thousand. Id buy it. Snowblowers take a lot of power, thats why they are usually one size smaller than most implements, and therefore usually not much wider than the tractor.

Thanks Wolfy , do you think 60inch will be too much for 19 @ P.T.O. hp ?

My previous gear driven tractor only had 18hp at the PTO and it had no problems powering a 60" rear blower (JD 750). Used it for 8 years before upgrading to my current tractor.

lobsterman1,

Consider asking for the owners manual. It can be invaluable in procuring replacement parts and identifying the recommended shear pins (auger, fan, pto, etc...). It might also be worth asking the seller to ID all the shear pins and make certain the PTO shaft is complete.

I like to keep extra shear pins handy along with a pack of "master links" in the event the drive chain gets damaged.

Here are a few operational pictures until yours is ready for use.

Enjoy the new blower!

The brand name is Meteor ,I think it`s made by walco Canada . Is this a good brand ?

Walco makes very heavy built rotary cutters. Perhaps they build sturdy snowblowers too.

When I was researching blowers, Meteor was on my short list. It is a good brand. I searched for used and found nothing decent as blowers tend to get scooped up pretty quickly. I ultimately went with a new Pronovost as I was able to get a good deal at the time and love it. For $800 with new paint, you are getting a deal. I agree with others regarding keeping shear pins handy. Check the proper strength for each pin because they are different. Good luck, I suspect you will be glad you bought a blower. They are great for the deep snow.

I have the same tractor with 60" blower.
At this price, jump on it before it goes away, they sell new for close to 2000 here.
And yes Meteor is a very good snowblower brand, build tough.
