ls
im looking at the following models
j2020 fel price 11700
j2030 fel 12700
g3033 fel 15088

I need help deciding witch tractor would work the best for me. i have 4.5 acres that needs mowed, plus basic digging and landscaping. i also intened to add a backhoe to which ever one i purchase. i only need to dig some water lines and a ditch or 2, nothing crazy. the main function will be mowing. I dont know if the extra 4 hp makes much of a difference and im afraid the 3033 will be more than i need.

Those are all 3 great LS tractors. The only thing with the G3033 is the only way to mow grass is with a rear 3pt finish mower. With the J model you have the option of the mid mount 60" drive over deck. The backhoe for the G3033 and J2030 both have 6 1/4' digging depth. LS is coming out with a new J model. Its a twin pedal HST, the loader has more lift cap, increased rollback angle, and has a more compact look than the current J model. I have a few on order now so once I get them in I will be posting pictures and specs on them. With the price on them it is going to be close to the current J model.

yeah i heard they were redoing it but one dealer told me it was gonna be about 1500-2000 more than the current model. i like the fact of a belly motor but was afraid the j's would have enough power to do the other things. one dealer said it would another said not to waste the money and by the 3033.

do you think you think that there is much difference in the power of 2020 compared to 2030

Better yet, go rent a trencher for the small amount you have.

I never have sold a J2020. I have always sold the J2030. The backhoe is pretty good on them. I have had good reviews from customers that has bought them and use them a lot to do some digging around the house and a couple of them use them on jobs digging ditches. As far as the price on the new J its going to be around $13,000. They will be a 23 hp with a better heavy build. Its all in what all you want the tractor to do. If all your going to do is mow grass and every once in a while dig some holes the J is a great choice. if you don't mind having the rear finish mower and don't have much to mow around and use the backhoe every day the G3033 is the way to go. Either model is a good choice and both will last you a very long time with plenty of room for more attachments.

Side question for TractShack ... it seems like LS is really making alot of sales. Can you get access to how many? I'm curious to see just how many nationwide units have been purchased so far.

Im not sure. I can see if they have anything on the dealer site. Just think LS sells factory direct, you got new holland selling them up to 50 hp, and you also have case ih. They have a lot or tractors out and not too many people know it. But i will check and see what i can find out for ya TSO

That would be interesting info. Their new plant in Brazil is being reported as capable of making 5,000 tractors a year, and the CEO says their goal for 2105 is just under $1B in tractor sales worldwide…..pretty impressive numbers if they can come close to them.
