At work we interface with a few prvate and govt web sites that we enter report data to, and then they generate a report for us. many times after report generation, there are buttons at the bottom of the page to say.. print confirmation.. or to save as a pdf.

last few days.. when i click save as pdf.. i get a IE diaglog box that comes up and says open, save, save as.. but instead of listing the pdf file.. it lists an address line that ends with aspx

almost as if IE is not processing the link to open the page that will then provide the pdf which I would save.

used to work fine. just recently changed?

is it a security setting on IE that is preventing that type of link?

any ideas?

machine happens to be a vista 32 laptop etc.

thanks

If its one website, its probably the website.
If its multiple websites, its probably the PC.

Did you run any updates lately?

hmm.. will try same site from another pc or my tablet next time and see what it does.

that pc has auto updates on.. so it MAY have updated.. etc..

interesting read on the aspx

i wonder if axtiv x has anything to do with it. activex has been restricted on that pc...

Sounding, look in your downloads directory for the file you see in the dialog box. It's an executable that will download the .pdf you want.
