I really like the mirrors, I might have to try my own mod now.

How did you remove the decal without destroying it? Did you have to use some new adhesive when re-sticking it?

Well Glenn if you've been screeched in then your as good as family! Are you enjoying your chipper? Great to read your enjoying the thread. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Brother Paul. I have also eaten cod tongues at Chess's as well!

I really enjoy my chipper! Had it a couple of years and made plenty of piles of chips. We put new trails all through the bush and chipped the limbs for ground cover on the trails. I do have a question, if you use the quick hitch do you still have room to hook up the PTO shaft once the chipper is mounted? I live right near the wallenstein factory (it's a large steel building on a farm in Mennonite country). I picked it up on my trailer and brought it home. They make great equipment there! Now I need to build a base for mine like you did. It sits crooked on my BX

A heat gun or a good hair dryer to heat it up gently first then it lifts off very easily and re-stick it on the other side of the FEL. Glad you liked the mirrors. Thanks.

Well if you eat at Chess's then your a full fledged Newfie by. Hooking up the chipper with the Quick hitch and the chipper is way easier. Even wifey was pleasantly surprised. I added the aluminum lower end to the chipper because I didn't like the angle of the PTO shaft when it was sitting on the ground plus I got to add removable wheels, tool box and a looper holder. Glad yours is working out. I have a powder coating issue with mine so I'm refinishing it myself later on this fall. Maybe some flame work with the air brush :D

So Wallenstein didn't fix the powder coat issues for ya?

Does that spinner knob fit your L?

Yes on both questions. Wallenstein reimbursed me for the problem and supplied all the graphics. Yes the Kubota spinner is on the L as well. The spinner comes with a rubber bushing but wasn't needed on the BX or the L

4shorts--there is no question you are one of the most capable machine, design and welding guys around. No doubt about it. But---was there ever a project you back-burnered, even if only for a while, that you thought too complex or too challenging? Was 4shorts ever stumped--if only for a little while? If so, what was the project or mod?

You know you really give me WAY to much credit don't you? :D Although I don't feel its accurate I do appreciate it.
Well you really stumped me with that question and its a question I was asked by a producer that does work for Discovery Channel last year and I can only think of one time I was so stumped I thought I'd never figure it out.

I had purchased a used metal lathe that was manufactured in Sofia, Bulgaria. I still have the lathe and it's been a fantastic machine but there was a chart that came with it that I just couldn't figure out. It had to do with the change gears and thread pitch. I asked everyone I could think of and no luck. It was 25 years ago and no Internet to help either.

Anyway I know this will be hard to believe but three months into owning the lathe I woke up suddenly from a deep sleep at 3am one morning and my wife asked me what's wrong? I told her I figured out the lathe chart! I got out of bed, went out to the shop and sure enough I knew how to read the chart.
How did I know? Well I'm still stumped on that question
I snapped a photo of the chart for you to see for yourself. Clear as mud hey :D

Yes I do get stumped at times but to be honest it don't last longer than a few minutes. Just lucky I guess :confused3:

How did you know that? You've been talking to my wife

Ok. I know you guys got to be getting tired of this thread by now! You just have to be but I'll still ask the question, do you guys want to see the totally worthless mod I'm just about to complete? If you do you got to promise you won't laugh at me  you can laugh with me though

I'm going to quit reading this if you keep asking that! :D It's like the prettiest girl in school that keeps asking everyone if she's pretty or not.

Heck yes, we all want to see it...and all the others afterwards! Now get to it!
