:thumbsup:That's the cats ***. Super job on the mirrors. It looks factory, best Mod yet IMO
Having seen them in person earlier today, I can tell you they are the perfect size and shape for the BX tractor. It's almost like the tractor was born with them!Seeing some of your work and tractor mods Paul, reminds me of a story about an auctioneer trying to sell an old violin. Not many were interested until the master got his hands on it, then everyone wanted one. Great job my friend and after seeing today the next mod you're doing to the BX I know everyone will like it as much as I did. BTW how's the old noggin?
Man. Your good with the research  Being 4th means no pride though![]()
Thanks Ramsay and thanks for dropping by. As always I enjoy the visit. Well my head is ok. Took a good hit. This was one time it was an advantage not having anything inside to hurt
Got that SUV done as well. Made a tool so I never had to pull the axels
Glad you enjoyed seeing the latest mod and even happier you didn't laugh at my next modI guess its the sign of a good friend when he can support you no matter what
It was nice to show you around as well. I started the next mod this evening. I'll drop up soon and have a look at your project
Paul:
Mirrors look great, I will have to go to the local golf cart store and look for some. In the bottom picture what are the small round objects on each fender outside of the lever consoles. I must have missed that mod, but they look like speaker enclosures, am I right?
Paul:
Next question, referring to the spinner knob on the steering wheel. My dealer is trying to get me one but he is having trouble with the Kubota distributer as he is being told he can't just order one. Did you have a problem finding one?
Jack
Well Glenn if you've been screeched in then your as good as family! Are you enjoying your chipper? Great to read your enjoying the thread. Thanks for posting.
I really like the mirrors, I might have to try my own mod now.
How did you remove the decal without destroying it? Did you have to use some new adhesive when re-sticking it?
Thanks Brother Paul. I have also eaten cod tongues at Chess's as well!
I really enjoy my chipper! Had it a couple of years and made plenty of piles of chips. We put new trails all through the bush and chipped the limbs for ground cover on the trails. I do have a question, if you use the quick hitch do you still have room to hook up the PTO shaft once the chipper is mounted? I live right near the wallenstein factory (it's a large steel building on a farm in Mennonite country). I picked it up on my trailer and brought it home. They make great equipment there! Now I need to build a base for mine like you did. It sits crooked on my BX
A heat gun or a good hair dryer to heat it up gently first then it lifts off very easily and re-stick it on the other side of the FEL. Glad you liked the mirrors. Thanks.
Well if you eat at Chess's then your a full fledged Newfie by. Hooking up the chipper with the Quick hitch and the chipper is way easier. Even wifey was pleasantly surprised. I added the aluminum lower end to the chipper because I didn't like the angle of the PTO shaft when it was sitting on the ground plus I got to add removable wheels, tool box and a looper holder. Glad yours is working out. I have a powder coating issue with mine so I'm refinishing it myself later on this fall. Maybe some flame work with the air brush
So Wallenstein didn't fix the powder coat issues for ya?
Does that spinner knob fit your L?
4shorts--there is no question you are one of the most capable machine, design and welding guys around. No doubt about it. But---was there ever a project you back-burnered, even if only for a while, that you thought too complex or too challenging? Was 4shorts ever stumped--if only for a little while? If so, what was the project or mod?
There was that space shuttle thing... But he got that figured out over lunch.
