Agreed, that's a nice piece for sure! I still get occasional notifications from avsforum from people asking where I got it from. :D

Day 107

Finally had periods when it was not raining. We have gotten a number of inches for sure!

The straw seems to be holding everything together nicely

Even this steep bank here held up very well

day107-4.jpg

So the washout area starts here where water is collected from both sides of the "valley"

day107-5.jpg

It then hits this poplar which slows it down some

day107-6.jpg

And finally breaks off into smaller streams on down into the silt fence

day107-7.jpg

Amazingly, there is no washout caused by the still missing downspouts. I guess the decking breaks up the water pretty good before it hits the ground

Stone guy was here today mudding up the front entrance area

And the HVAC guys were here setting the air handler. I see they did get the correct whole house air cleaner unit for it. Hopefully they will bring the humidifier with them tomorrow when they tie in the duct work.

Tomorrow the 6x6 tiles they ran out off already should be here, so they can continue the flooring. Hardwood floors should be in as well.

Peter, Sorry I jinxed you by wishing you slow and gentle rains , but the seeding did come through pretty good all things considered.

Lol, well, at least it looks like there will be at least a temporary break from the rain. I see patches of blue sky for the first time since last week!

Peter, did you ever figure out where the water in the basement came from?

It was gone when I checked yesterday, and completely dried up today. So all I can think off is that one of the workers spilled/dumped something there?

If there was truly a leak of some sort, I'm sure the rain we've had would have revealed it.

It must be optical illusion, but I would swear that your mom's air handler has a sewer drain running to it.

Checking this thread out again, I noticed the issue on the exposed ends of the deck. I'm sure the builder will make it look OK with added trim boards, but for anyone else doing a composite deck, consider "picture framing" it. This is what my contractor did with my Azek deck and it really worked well. It has a slight overhang on all sides. The attached photo shows steps on the deck. We used a contrasting color to give a "visual cue" for safety.

Stu & Pete...that's a nice credenza, thanks for posting pix of it.

My next door neighbors did the same thing with the deck rebuild they did last year, and it sure looks sharp.

We picture framed our deck. It added a lot of time to the installation but does hide the exposed ends of the composite decking.
