Now that will bring the ticks out in major numbers.

perhaps a silly question, but is there anything good or worthwhile about a tick?
They seem to just be disease carriers. Lots of Lyme disease around here. Scary stuff, wrecks your
nervous system for life if untreated. Even treated, numb fingers and toes are not uncommon, aka peripheral
neuropathy.

so while I might smile at Bambi, I'd prefer her whole family as steaks and chops, and all the ticks in the world eradicated.
Now there's a use for DNA research...can't we just bioengineer them away? Or does that break some kind of prime directive...
I mean, how many folk like termites?

51 degrees and raining supposed to rain most of the morning then drizzle until evening. Tax day is right ugh! Grass is growing like wildfire hard to keep up. Hope all have a safe and prosperous day

Drinking last cup of coffee for today. 34 degrees with some clouds this morning. Heading to 67 with some showers this afternoon. Never got warm until early evening yesterday. Outside projects have been moved to today in between rain drops.

Been up since 0430, trying to make the numbers look better for my bosses (sequestration is killing too many vital programs).

It is raining, will have to drive the truck for the first tme in days...

I need to get the wife to let me out at the property so I can work on the mower so the daughters can mow...

No changes for the better in my situation. In fact, I need to find new living arrangement by May 17th beacuse the college kid comes home for the summer on 5/18...

sigh...

Hey folks, went to our son's house for a visit in Front Royal, got home yesterday and had a taco party for mom's 90'th birthday. She ate 3 overstuffed tacos and a piece of cake, not bad for 90! I'm just tired today and could use a lazy day but my customers and bills say otherwise sooooo...

Below freezing overnight but 38*F now, calm and sunny. Should be a right nice day! Could break 60*F for the first time this year Wednesday or Friday.

The chains and snowblower are coming off the tractor today, but first I will cut off last year's dead asparagus stalks.

It's a beautiful morning here, clear and 65 F at 7 AM. I've been watching a kildeer momma bait my cats away from her nest. Those darn little birds are brilliant the way they flip and flop to make the cats think they are injured. After she got them far enough away, she flew off and they went somewhere else while she returned to her nest.

Good morning! 70˚ to 90˚ this week but will dip back into the 30s Friday.
I had a plan before I retired. I had planned on just letting all the yard weeds grow and calling them all wildflowers and never mow. I forgot to tell my wife the plan and today the yard grass is evenly cut, trimmed and green. It does look good, and snakes are visible - just this maintenance thingy,,,:flower:
