John Deeere 59" blower spill over

Hello;

To you fellas that are running a JD 59" front blower. I have one on a 3320 and it works great except there is quite a bit of spill over on each end. Even if I slow way down it still spills over. Then I have several ridges of snow to clean up. I would like to do the job one time. Down and Back, Down and back. Then leave behind a nice clean driveway without making more trips to clean ridges.. The ridges are far enough apart to require one trip per ridge. Running this outfit is tons of fun but a 1/3 mile drive and about another 4 miles of hiking trails Is Pleanty of fun for one day. By that time I'm ready to brush her off and put her to sleep until the next Fun Time. Head into the house for a brew and toast my good work.

I think the next time my wife does the blowing I'll get a birds eye view of what exactly is going on. Maybe an extension ear on each end is what is needed.

obviously the first pass you have to take a full width cut... but after that I take half width cuts, and even then if I get going a bit too fast, I get spillover. Also, with my machine, I gotta run it pretty near wide open throttle for max efficiency.

Sounds like a good idea. If you can determine the cause you have a better chance of fixing it. First guess would be travel speed and second guess would be the shape and size of the end plates on the blower. Never ran a front mount blower but have puts lots of hours on rear mounts and walk behinds and I don't recall having this problem unless I was going faster than the infeed augers and blower could handle. When watching the blower check to see if the auger loads up with snow and the blower fan itself is not being kept full. May be as simple as changing the drive speed on the augers if this the case.

All the two stage blowers made including the RAD units you and I own have the same issues where the cross auger ribbons will always push away snow as it conveys it to the center of the two stage snow clearers. The single stage snow casters do not have this issue because the auger is solid in construction, saying that I DO NOT SEE the manufacturers of these snow casters building a solid cross auger for two stage snow casters which is what is sorely needed.

EDIT:

What I forgot to add was that the cross auger lack cutting edges/serated edges to cut down and break away the snow pack to make it smaller to convey it more easily to the center of the snow caster-the other issue which is counterproductive is simply that the impeller housings are not centered in the cross auger housings in most units which affects the front implements
abilty to get rid of it efficiently.

After the first pass, take the next pass small enough not to get the spill over. In other words instead of 59" each time, take 50" or so depending on the depth of snow you're blowing. In deep snow I just slow down a little..

Ok that explain when I first made my research on Curtis cab I've had never seen this model.

I had the exact same issue with a kubota version front mount.

Made some wings to widen (you could extend a few inches) and ALL spillover has ceased.
