The JD gauge ad at the right side is now obscuring much of the "last post" information for the newest four threads in every forum, at least on my computer. Is it an issue for anyone else?

If I accidentally drag my cursor over the ad it gets bigger. Doesn't go away without hitting the "x". Very annoying!

Similiar to what RDrancher said, if I hold my mouse pointer over the ad, it gets larger and have to click the "close" button at the upper left of the ad to get it back to normal size. In the larger size, it does cover up some of the posts. Tried switching text size and zoom levels in windows IE view settings, but no effects from changing from the defaults, so that should not cause the problem for you. Keep your mouse pointer off the ad and see if it still causes the problem or see if it goes away.

It never goes away...even with my mouse pointer away from it....I don't have an issue with ads here UNLESS they obscure the posts.

It goes away for me if I take the extra step to find and click on the close in the upper left hand corner its just annoying to me.

Doesn't go away for me no matter what....I can close the bigger ad but the smaller one that obscures the posts NEVER GOES AWAY. Appears TBN is trying to discourage my participation here by censorship.

It probably a combination of what browser you are using and what screen resolution you are set to.

If it is the smaller ad covering up the posts, then yes, as MossRoad said, check your display settings for your monitor. Write down what they
currently are before changing so you know your starting point. Right click on a blank area of your desktop, a menu will pop up, at the bottom of the menu is "Properties" select this then select the "settings" tab if you are using Windows XP. You can slide the bar back and forth - probably to a higher number. Of course this depends on your video card and monitor, but those are the basics. Each video card and monitor have a "native" setting that gives the best picture. Hope this makes sense.

Yes, your suggestion makes sense but changing the resolution made no difference, already tried that. I am using Vista and IE. May as well end this thread as nothing is going to make a difference. Thanks all. Have not checked on my desktop yet to see if the issue is present there....I am using a Toshiba 17.3 inch laptop. The problem began recently although I have not changed any settings at all that would have created the problem.

Many times, Microsoft products respond to a computer reboot. They tend to lose their way. If you have not tried a reboot, you may give that a shot just for pain and suffering.

What's your resolution set at?

Current resolution is set at 1280X800....if I go to 1440X900 the same issue occurs...if I lower the resolution to 1024X600 it goes away but the screen is horribly grainy and I cannot even look at it for more than a few minutes. My desktop doesn't have the problem which means it's an issue with my laptop, perhaps the browser is compressing things....rebooting as Fossil Farm suggests makes no changes. Thanks much for the help you have given, guys.

I'm running a 17" laptop with the resolution set to 1920 x 1080 and don't have a problem with that ad at that resolution.

I bump down to your 1440 x 900 and still don't have a problem.

Heck, I bump down to 1280 x 800 and don't have it. I'm running IE 8, Firefox and Chrome and it is the same with all of them.

Perhaps Vista and the version of IE is the culprit. Hope you find a solution.

It just began a few days ago and I suspect it's a browser issue and more of an irritation than a problem....thanks again for trying to help me solve it.

I am using Ad Block Plus on Google Chrome, and it does an outstanding job.

I just got tired of a lot of searched items which would appear on my page as an ad.

Yeah. It can spoil Christmas for you if you get on line and ads start appearing for stuff your spouse has been searching for to buy for you.
