Tractor is getting new ride!

Its ready to pickup! Got the call from Danny at Betterbuilt trailers that my unit is ready to pickup. I ordered it about a month ago for September pickup so I could heal from a foot surgery. Timing was perfect, started walking last week and I am ready to get back to work and play. Need the trailer to get the Mahindra and equipment over to the hunting property :deer: :duck: :dove: in the Mississippi Delta, lots of work to do since I have been dealing with this foot for a year and nothing has been done.

I feel for you on the foot surgery. I had total joint replacement on both big toes about five years ago after the first surgery didn't work out so well.

You would probably be looking at a 16' 7,000 GVWR trailer.

I have not weighed it yet, but Danny at Betterbuilt said it weighed about 3K with a legal capicity of about 9K. It is rated at 12K gross to match my truck hitch rating but the Bill of Sale states 14K rated axles and frame. The Mahindra with FEL, loaded rears and heavy disc will go about 6K so I can haul it without stressing the trailer or axle/tires. My old trailer was a 16' 7K rated GN that was FULL and overloaded. I hope this is my last trailer and tractor!!

After all the add ons ( 20' + 2', spare, chainbox, spring assist on ramps, sealed wiring harness, rubrail and 14K axle upgrade) it was $4270 including tax and title. A basic trailer would be about $3500. I chose Betterbuilt for the Quality of the finished product after visiting the plant in Double Springs, AL.
I knew what I wanted and price was not so much a determing factor as was fit and finish of the unit. I looked at several trailers that were compatibile (Kaufman, Gatormade, Big Tex and too many cheap units!) and the Betterbuilt was the best in my opinion.
Also the fact that a custom unit was the standard way they build trailers and not on a assembly line, this made changing and modifying prior to being built as simple as a phone call. Remember, I ordered the unit for a 8 week delivery. Most trailers can be built in about 2 weeks normally.

It has Double King rubber. I almost bought better tires myself but decided they will have to be replaced soon enough
