yanmar ym1500 update

just wondering if any body can tell me of any other online yanmar parts suppliers ? on monday this week i e mailed hoye about a seal and postage costs to the uk but they never got back to me? the pto oil seal on my ym 1500 starts to leak after around 2 hours of use is that normal for a seal to be ok till its used a few hours then leak? thanks

call them again. im sure they were busy. arron himself may reply to this? There gr8 to deal with, like anyone sometimes things slip throught the cracks. i would call them again or shoot an email to them.

Heck like i said Aaron from Hoye is on this site, you could even PM him. He checks here daily i think he said.

the seal is an H38x58x11TC metric seal. You should be able to get it at any bearing/seal vendor.

Every email that I receive is answered the same business day. +1 to this. Your local auto parts place should have one. The easiest method I've found is to use the website search of whatever local parts places you have. Often the people can't look them up by dimension, but the website search will, as it is usually listed in the details of an automotive part (eg: in the description of a axle bearing seal for a Mazda 262).

At least that should get you the seal immediately, though if you are in no rush, Hoye is a great place to do business with, in my experience.

Well Billy since no one has specifically answered the last part of your concern I will give it a shot...is there any play in the shaft? Is the vent plugged up? (its the J curved pipe on top of your rock shaft housing) is there lateral movement? (in and out) has the seal been replaced already? Overfull on fluid? just things that came to mind. (if its recently been replaced the spring may have fallen off during instal and simply re-installing it may fix it if its ok and the seal wasn't damaged by instal)

thanks guys ok first i live in rural scotland so not many places local but will try the nearest agri dealer first if not i usuallyhace to get stuff on the net. ok the j pipe is clear i checked it . the shaft has very little movement and the seal hasnt been changed . the oil level was low so its not that bye the way what oil grade are you guys using in the back end?at the moment its not loosing a lot so will have a look around and see if i can get a seal if not i will get some other stuff as well as the seal from hoye. thanks

Here are the recommended lubricants for your tractor. Fluid & Oil Types
All the transmission/pto area shares the fluid. Just make sure you use one that is titled transmission/hydraulic oil or hydraulic/transmission oil. Probably no Walmarts in your area but I use their Super Tech brand. Walmart.com: Super Tech Heavy Duty Tractor Hydraulic and Transmission Fluid: Automotive
Many have used ATF in cold climates. Don't know the climate where you are.

hi winston 1 o no walmarts i will check up and see what there is at the nearest agri dealer i do think i remember a oil that is called hy tran we used to get here i think it was red colour? but will check it out and let you know what i find . thanks
