Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and an also in the market for a tractor and hope to buy in the next month or so. I'm looking for a machine in the 40-50 hp range and played with a 4035 today at the nearest dealer (about 40 miles). I've been lurking here on the site for a few days and have read all the reviews of the brands I'm looking at. New Holland, Mahindra and Massey are my main focuses currently. So, the main question is this:

Would you buy Mahindra again?

Thanks in advance

-Derek

My 2008 5525 is a real beast. No problems. Buy again--sure:thumbsup:

Hi all,

Would you buy Mahindra again?

My Mahindra is going on 4 years old now and it still starts and runs like the first day it arrived. I would say that I would choose another Mahindra specifically for the durability and reliability alone, even though some other brands might outclass Mahindra with some stylish ergonomics or fancy hoods. I figure it's a tractor not a car. It just needs to do it's job and do it every time.

Yes, I studied tractors for about 4 months before I purchased my used 4500 with FEL. This was my first tractor and I am very pleased. But I think that just as important as the manufacture is to get the correct size and capability
for the task you need to do. Sounds like you already decided on the Hp (that took me about 2 months - Grin)
I made a decision early on that I would get a FEL. I was just getting over a major back problem and knew I would be working by my self a lot. I had a building renovation project and some demolish also to do on the property.
It has been a little over a year and it has been great. Don't know how I would have made it without my tractor and FEL.

If I had just needed a grass cutter and use a few 3 pt attachements I
would have went another direction. (smaller tractor with no FEL)
Good Luck

We did buy recently, a 4035. I've put about 20 hrs on so far and it is comfy and easy to use.

BTW, I asked the same question on some of the other brands threads and it generated no where near the number of pages and happy customers. Mahindra owners seem to be an enthusiastic bunch. Glad to be part of the clan.

I wouldn't hesitate. I bought my little 2510 used... and I love it.
I even have friends that told my wife that if I kick the bucket- they want first dibs on the tractor
I bolted a little hitch on the back of my gannon....and I pull my little harbor freight backhoe around the yard and just have a blast doing little jobs I create just for fun.

Mahindra 2516. Smaller tractor that what you are looking for but, yes I would buy the same again. no problems, no issues.

LOVE my tractor- I would absolutely purchase again. The only issues I have encountered I seem to have caused myself (new operator errors and lack of general tractor knowledge). This has been such a great tool and mine, knock on wood ,has been very reliable.

Had mine for 4 years now:
I have been far from hard on this tractor and it has had problems over and over again. I've been fixing it for a long time now, I'm tired of not being able to use my tractor when I want to.
1. The back hoe has broken, so I'm working on that now too. One of the ears on the "left-right" hydraulic cylinder broke off, yes, the center of the ear broke. I was digging in dirt and gravel at the time. This doesn't include the 2 times I've replaced the linkage in the BH controls with the plastic end.
2. The starter quit working for a couple of years. I would just jump the hot on the starter to get it to start. My dealer when out of business a few months after I bought mine, so it is an hour + to the next closest dealer, and I don't have a trailer big enough to haul it. Recently, it has started working again. I can just turn the key and it starts.
3. The diff lock doesn't work anymore, actually that was the first problem I had with it. I've just been dealing with it.
4. I got a recall for the FEL, I guess they'll pay for that, but I have to pay to get it there, gee thanks.

When it works, it is a fine tractor. I saved money by buying it. If I had it to do over, I'd look into Kioti more.

POC, I'm sorry to hear about your tractor trouble and dealer travel. I hope when you get it fixed now, that it works well for a long time.

I have had my 2015 for two years now ( bought it used) and am very impressed with what even a smaller tractor can accomplish. It is a very tough little tractor and alway's impresses me. I have also had zero problem's. Yes I would definately buy again. POC, also sorry to hear of your tractor troubles !!!!
