I was wondering who'd comment. Truth is, I'm staring at a computer screen all day, the last thing I need is another one in my pocket! The other truth is I'm too cheap to spring for a data plan.

It does look pretty big to me too. Using a rough estimate of 5" for the length of the phone, I'd say the rock is almost 4ftx4ftx3ft or about 48cubic ft of ?granite. At 168lbs/cubic ft, that works out to a bit over 8000lbs! Even if my estimate is off by a factor of 4 that would be more than 2000lbs with the center of gravity about two feet out from the pivot points. I'd say a DK40se could lift a 2000lb rock at that position but I'm thinking not much more than that. Unless that phone is tiny or the rock is really less than 3ft x 3ft x 2ft, you cannot expect any CUT to lift it. That would be a challenge for a full size loader.

Sorry Dude,
You won't be picking that thing up. Guess we steered you wrong- time to trade up to a mini track ex!:thumbsup:
If you could manage to pull it out of its hole with a chain you might be able to move it, but a DK-40- will NOT lift that BOULDER!
Note I say BOULDER, not rock, because it is a huge boulder!
Nice try though- you could put an entire loaded Freightliner on the back for ballast and still it would just laugh a low rumbling BOULDER laugh.

Drill a hole- stick it with a charge, and then lift whats left.

I want my money back!!! You guys said a DK45 could do ANYTHING!!!! I do think some of your estimates on the size of the rock are a little high, it might be 4X4X3 on the large side, but is sliced like a wedge. Still probably 5000 - 6000 lbs using some of your numbers to guess. I didn't really think I could lift it until I saw some of the ones you guys did, then I started thinking I had a chance. Anyway, I did move it but backed off pretty fast when the weight of my tractor, ballast and that "boulder" was all rocking back and forth on my front axle!

Where I live we would probably classify that as a mountain...

Honestly Ken. These guys screwed you. They probably all work for kioti corporate. :). Haha
Look at the bright side. When you grow the first one ton pumpkin you will be able to load it with your new DK.

Hey, Coyote and Koua, shall we split the kickback per routine or do you want to double down on the chance we can get him to add a backhoe to the order? If we can find and deliver just three more marks this month we'll each get an extra Kioti hat! I'm going to go hang out in the Kubota forum looking for noobs who can be fooled by Chevy Orange. Coyote why don't you cruise the JD forum for a while and Koua you could try your luck with NH or the Chinese tractor forum!

I'll bite! But I've cut my own special deal- I get a new DK-40 every 3rd deal, so long as the mark is kept totally in the dark:cool::laughing:
Don't tell KK.

Well, I drained and changed the gas and still nothing. Fiddled with the switch (on/off) and off it went. So with the tanks full of water, I headed back down the road to try one last time. The rock is down off the side of the road so I put it in 4 wheel drive, low range. I can get under the rock no problem with the forks but, still no lift. I tried backing a little which started bringing the front wheels up to the road level, but also started raising the FEL. I very quickly ended up in a familiar position, with both rear (loaded) wheels, my box blade and two full barrels of water high and dry hanging in the air. The rock wins this one, I picked up a smaller one and headed home. Here's some pictures of the imovable rock plus a couple of the rock I took. My cell phone is in one pic for reference. Still can't find the camera, took the kids again

Lee Valley use to sell "feathers and irons" that would be used to split rocks like this one.

With luck you could reposition the two halves after you moved them.

Say what you want. It's still a Chinese tractor. Your gonna have multiple problems with it. They're not known for making things that last. Good luck.

I've had my Korean made Kioti for 11 years with no problems. Thanks.
Please try to get your facts straight before you comment.
