Hi All,
So I'm the proud owner if a brand new DK5310SE. I'll start off that I absolutely love the machine and did a lot of reading into many brands before I sold my old Massey Ferguson and upgraded.
However, I'm rather frustrated at the moment. The machine has 16.5 hours in almost 3 months, and is now preparing for it's third trip back to the dealer. The first issue was rather major, but dealer and Kioti took care of me. I'm over it. This next issue, and reason for my 2nd and now 3rd pending trip to the dealer has me stumped.
I have a stump grinder for the 3 point hitch, and a couple weeks back I was about 2 hours into grinding stumps. I went to go lift my 3 point hitch to reposition, and hydraulic oil shot straight out the back of the machine in an ultra fine mist. I got off the machine and carefully tried to repeat the scenario. I also found that when I didn't lift the hitch, hydraulic fluid was leaking from a small but steady stream from something on the rear right hand side of the tractor. As it turned out, there's a cast cover plate that bolts to the side of the rear hydraulic remote under the seat pan, fluid was leaking from this joint.
So I brought it into the dealer, they told me that one of the bolts was loose. This made sense. No big deal, they put new o-rings in and I took it home. Then again this week I was at least an hour and a half into grinding stumps, went to reposition and lifted the 3 point hitch, and SAME problem again. The cover I'm describing is Item #2 in the image below from the service manual.
I'll be calling the dealer in the morning. In the meantime I don't get why this is happening? Am I using the rear remote incorrectly? I push the rear remote lever into the detent, and this allows fluid to circulate to the valve block on the stump grinder. There is a position A and position B on the rear remote, but it only actuates the stump grinder cylinders in position A. I imagine if I swapped the hose position on my quick disconnects, then I'd have to run the rear remote in position B. On my old tractor I had a power beyond circuit, as it never had a rear remote.
There is no way I'm over-working the hydraulic circuit though, because generally you try to move the cutting head as slow as possible. Otherwise you'll bury the head and stall or break something.
Anybody else have this issue on their machine?
