trail camera STOLEN

Like gravity and other rules of physics, the rule for game cameras is:

"If you put it up high they will shoot it; if you put it down low they will steal it."

If you buy a game camera with the rule in mind, you won't be disappointed.

I placed one.. to watch for deer and try to establish a pattern of movement through my property which i may want to deter by some method... AKA haveing my labs out to patrol certain times, and or extra garden protection at a certain time of year...

but i cant find it now...

May have to get a second one....

whats wrong with putting it 25' up in a tree looking "down"? Highly unlikely that billy-bob brought tree climbing gear with him during his stroll through my property? It also has a much less chance of being spotted that far up, i mean who takes a walk through the woods spending there time looking up in the trees? (unless your hunting squirrels)

Well, you seem to be the only one that has had a problem with those "harmless humor" comments. And what about the other two comments that were funny I mentioned??? You didnt point them out so I guess those were okay by you?

No I havent had a game can stoled, But have had other stuff stolen. $3500 worth of chainsaws just two years ago. Yea, it sucks, but life moves on. And when your mad at the world all the time, sometimes a little humor can be good.

What about all the other threads on here too. Like threads where people have rolled a tractor. A serious situation that may not be a laughing matter. But someone always finds a way to inject a little humor. Or what about broken tractor threads. Same thing.

You cant take things too seriously. Its what makes this site great. If we all took things as seriously as you, and always stayed on topic, and didnt have the general BS'ing that we do here, this forum would be pretty boring.
Please re-read the OP's request-he's asking for our help in how to better secure (the next one) his stolen game camera. I didn't read anywhere that he asked for "harmless humor" comments. When something of value is stolen, the last thing I want to hear is someone tossing harmless humor at me-rude behavior in my book. My opinion.

Seriously, you're still going on about that. I didn't say anything the first time because I assumed you were just having a bad day, but come on now, making lite of it wasn't rude or meant in a mean spirited way. ***** happens to all of us, a little laugh makes everybody feel better, including the unfortunate victim. I laughed at the comment, and if it was my camera that was stolen, I still would have laughed, then gone back to being pissed about what happened.

Boring perhaps, but much more... informative.

I found someones trail cam in my apple orchard strapped to a tree on the edge of my field. (glad they asked permission)
I didn't take it, I did walk up behind it and hold up a piece of paper that said if the camera was found again I was gonna have the DNR remove it for me.
I guess i could have just taken it but, I don't want to start a problem when i live so far out in the country... I'm sure I would have had some of my stuff disappear if i would have done that.

:confused2::confused2::confused2:

Does anyone ever ask for humor in their thread?? Doesnt matter if someone has a broke tractor and cant get going, or something stolen. No one on here ask for humor, but you get it anyway. As kiotiken said, it wasnt meant to be rude or mean. It was meant in good spirits. I am very sorry that you are the only one of several hundred people who have read this thread that feel that way. My advice to you....dont read any more threads.

Aww, I dont know about that. This forum is already very informative, but also fun. Taking away the fun leaves only the information, but I dont know if that would equate to MORE information. Probabally just a slower forum with not as many people and slower responses to answers is what I would guess.:D

I am in the process of making a camouflage case to secure my game cam. How's this?

cartod,
Looks great camo-wise. Have you a method from keeping it from swinging in the breeze to eliminate false shutters? You're on the right track.
