Good morning!!!!

Mid 70's now going to 90 again, officially 91 yesterday at the airport which is across the field from my back yard, I had 99 in the shade at noon.
David, if you work and sweet in high humidity alternate water/Gatorade every half hour, no more leg cramps.

You need to boost your potassium intake when you sweat a lot.
I can tell you how I do it if your interested.

Pop & Robert,

Robert, PM me, I'm always open to learning something new...

I forgot about the potassium... I don't do sugar very much, so I never buy gatorade, but I did guzzle water alll weekend...

My wife put a banana in my lunch today also.

Tonic Water is supposed to help (the quinine I think) but we were almost out so all I got was a swallow.

Thanks,
David

Bright and sunny here, just came in to feed my guys and myself...76 degrees. I always feel sorry for people who cannot sleep well as I never have any problem falling and staying asleep. My problem is I sleep so soundly it takes forever to wake up (sleep inertia) and no amount of coffee helps. Went out at 8 am this morning planning to do things and my neighbor asked if I had any hardware to fix his screen door and after that I helped him replace the door latch cable on his shed overhead door and then I made him a custom paint mixer to use with his drill and then I watched his kids for a while so he could do something. He has a four year old boy and a two year old girl and his wife works days he works nights so he has little time for himself.

I'm rather surprised they purchase BMWs for motorcycle patrol...due to the cost.

Well I just got chased inside by the thunderstorms. Good on ya JD for helping out the neighbors. That is a sweet looking motorcycle!

Reliability is better and service life is longer than the Harleys they sometimes used.

That's true...Harleys are a piece of crap, in general.

The city he works for has no income tax so they really concentrate on getting the most for the buck equipment wise. They figure in original cost, depreciation, and repairs vs. the expected service life and choose the most cost-effective equipment. And with so few cycles (4-5) they take a really hard look at reliability to minimize downtime.

Actually they started buying BMW's due to the anti-lock brakes... BMW had them first...

I've talked to motor cops who like the BMW's better, and those who prefer the Harleys. To each their own.

Ya, but they got character!:D

Harley has good PR and a bunch of OLD guys riding 'em...
Otherwise, it's just another company trying to make a profit.

Roy, Roy, Roy...

I call BS. Not since the AMF days of the 70's... Got any stats to back you up?

I've owned many brands, and my Harleys have better quality, fit, finish, lower maintenace, etc...

Sorry but this time I dissagree strongly...

20 years ago (right after the HD management bought the company from AMF), I'd have agreed with you.
Now...HD is trading on it's reputation and "Biker" reputation.

Maybe I have a bad taste in my mouth... HD treated York PA like crap (threatening to move) and it still treats it's employees like garbage.

HEY ROY....what have you got against OLD GUYS, you are one yourself. And since when is it a sin to make a profit? Did you see the news today where they reported the typical CEO of a public company made $9.6 million last year? Appears somebody is making a profit, somewhere !

I have no problem with Old Guys riding HDs or HD making a profit.
However, HD pulled some shifty sh*t here in the York area a few years back and we still have hard feelings about that.

That's why I buy low calorie Gatorade, 45 calories in 20 oz. I'm diabetic.;)

Smart man....avoiding sugar drinks is just common sense for anyone most of all a diabetic. I never drink regular soda and avoid even diet sodas except for maybe 2 cans a month and that is when dining out. For a thirst quencher I drink "Fuze" slenderize tropical punch...1 gram sugar per 16.9 ounces, 10 calories.

Have never cared much for Gatoraid drinks, mixed them too many times with the stuff they make you take for a colonoscopy prep.

I own few HD's from Sportser to U-Glides now trike.
Sure HD has there problem..need and greed, putting pressure on dealership which are becoming known as stealerships :(

Finger should also be pointer at the wanabe's..getting over there heads playing the part and over spending etc.etc.

Our local HD shop getting $80 an hour..YIKES,indeed hard to take but HD bikes are higher tech from 70's..keeping up w/the time also goverment demands.

Build a bike and your mad money will disappear.

Will I purchase another HD,at this point and time I would say no..Honda Goldwing.

Each there own and your mileage may vary. ;)

All these big corps do that now. They will do anything to put a few bucks in the top management's pocket. Up here we see auto supplier corps move every few years - they stay as long as they get tax deals ( subsidies) . It's kind of become like a traveling circus - they come in, promise a lot, pay as little as possible, and leave when they get a better deal from a community more desperate. These local communities will knock themselves out to bring in a company that pays $8 to $10 per hour, give them subsidies, then when the tax deal times out, and they have depreciated their machinery down to nothing, they either force the locals to come up with more tax dollars or take the circus down the road, to another state or Mexico. IMHO, we shouldn't play their game, but as long as somebody will "pay to play", I guess it's not going to stop. The race to the bottom continues.
