Recently joined the forum when I found it while doing research for a new CUT and mower. I was looking at upgrading from a BX1850 with a MMM and boxblade that has performed flawlessly for last 4 years in a multi-purpose role, and ended up getting a B2620 with FEL and a ZG222-48P to handle mowing duties. I got what I felt was a good deal and am excited to pick it up tomorrow. I have about 5.5 acres or so to mow and several more wooded acres to take care of so this combo was what I decided on after lurking on the board for a while and seeing what thoughts were on the various models. Looking forward to finding more information on various attachments and which ones are good or bad and why.

Congrats! From personal experiance, I feel I can say you made an excellent choice. Did you keep the box blade?

Yes, I kept the box blade and 4' brush hog I had been using with my old unit. Figured there was no sense in replacing them as they are in great shape now and wouldn't add much value to the trade.

Congratulations on your new equipment.

I made the trip down to Ardmore this morning and picked up the tractor and mower. Put a couple hours on each one this afternoon.

Congrats as well!

So shiny and new - time to get some dirt on that FEL!! :)

Nice truck / trailer combo BTW...

Have to also remember that they are not "toys" when your significant other is within earshot. :) :)

I was chatting with a neighbor shortly after changing a belt and right before testing my work. He laughed and said my equipment was quite a toy. I thought about it and corrected him. I said I wished it was just a toy. I think of a boat or a motor cycle as a toy. These things are tools. If it were a toy, I'd have less work to do! LOL!

It ain't work if you like doing it.

I could pay someone to do all my "work" and spend less money than we have in equipment.

I would like to agree, but I have had trouble finding people to hire to do work for me.

That's for sure.:D That is usually the best time of the week for me when I can get out and work around my place. These new pieces of equipment will help me work smarter.

I think it's still work. It's just the good kind. I love doing work that I can enjoy. That's one reason I like my tractor. I enjoy doing work with it. Now plumbing, there's something I could do without!

Don't forget painting....:( I'd rather take a beating than spend a day painting.

I would like to agree, but I have had trouble finding people to hire to do work for me.

On one of our farms, our renters will do all of the bush hogging for no cost as we give them a very good cash rent rate. On another farm, we could pay one of the neighbors as it is hard to find anyone who doesn't own a tractor and we actually have open station tractors and mowers long since paid for we would just have to pay a driver.

I am retired and like to stay busy as well as hate to have to depend on others, so I spent the money on good tractors and equipment.

Now grunt work like clearing brush, trees etc., it is next to impossible to get anyone to work.

Before I retired, the time I spent on our farms after work and on weekends with my sons beat going to the lake or anything else I could think of.

I can't argue that point.

I swore off plumbing AND painting last year. We found a local company that will do small and large jobs and if I have to sell pencils on the street corner to pay for it, I will gladly pay someone else to do that.

I'm with you. I swore over 20 years ago I'd never pick up another paint brush. I'd hire it out before doing it myself but luckily for the smaller jobs my wife enjoys it. Go figure!

Back to topic though. Nice set of tools there! Congrats to the OP.
