My '04 BX23's fuel guage is starting to act up...Sometimes when idling at drops to "E" then comes back up without any tractor movement..It sometimes does this while driving it as well...

I'm being very lazy, but I figured I'd ask the experts before I try to figure it out...

Kept in a climate controlled garage with fuel sourced out of a high volume station...

Check the wiring connections, especially the ground connection at the tank... KennyV

I'll do that...The connections at the guage look ok as best I can tell (it's buried)...i will look at the tank ground though...Trying to get my Mom's painfully complicated tax return completed, so I have to ask the consultants about tractor fixes in the interest of time...much appreciated. :drink:

Had a BX2660 that had an erratic fuel guage from the beginning. You could never depend on what it was indicating. Barlows said they would replace it. Maybe they did after I traded them the BX2660 to the F3080.:) It wasn't worth it to me to take it in for replacing, figured maybe something else would go bad and I'd get it all done at one time but alas nothing else went bad while I owned it.

Mine has a ground on the left rear around he rear light. The ground wasn't grounding all the time because of paint. Cleaned off a little paint and is now OK.

Talked to my neighbor since last post. He has a BX2350 and he says he doesn't count on his fuel guage being reliable, never has been.

Yeah, my BX24 gauge has always indicated full until almost empty. Then it varies from full to near empty depending on tilt.

I just use it as a reminder to check the tank.

Don't worry about that. I had one fall in months ago...:ashamed:
Did you ever get it out? I couldn't find my flexible push the end and open the claws tool, brother couldn't find his either so I had to buy another one. No success with it so far, to short. Having to wait till fuel gets lower level and then I'll park it on a hiilside with the cap on the low side and see if it will float down closer to the lid and maybe be able to grab it.
Tried to talk my grandson into sticking his arm in and seeing if he could get it but alas he preferred not burning his arm up with deisel fuel over helping his Papaw. He was about ready to do it then he asked if it would hurt and I sort of hesitated with my answer and sort of hum hawed to long so he reniged on his offer to go for it with his little arm. Maybe his twin sister will try it for a dollar.:D

Exact same story ...we could not find our tool either, so we had to buy a new one. That did not work, so we got my sister to stick her arm in the tank. She couldn't feel it. We just left it for now...no ill affects so far.

I could do that using the BH and BH leg!!!

That's what I'll try next once I have the BH on.

Thanks. I've been running mine with no real worry. About only concern is may interfere with fuel guage.
I read the thread you posted/linked above and left my comment of how I dropped mine in.:)
