Thread posting "Submit" seems to hang

When I post to a thread lately and hit "Submit," there is a long delay with a progress bar appearing. Sometimes it delays for a minute or more before the reply is posted and I'm returned to the forum. I've tried in Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome on my desktop and on my laptop. They all seem to react the same. Has anyone else seen this behavior? I've tried editing a post and that updates quickly. It seems to be only when I submit the new post to a thread. It doesn't seem to matter how long or if there are attachments.

EDIT: I just submitted this thread and it went at normal speed.:confused3:

Yes, Jim... I'm having the same problem.

I've noticed it in the past couple days, and others may be having the same problem because I have seen a few ''double posts''.

I too have seen it, glad others are writing about it, lets me know it not my connection ( have issue between router & modem).

If it happens again, please post the "Page generated in 0.04086 seconds with 11 queries" times from the bottom of the page after it does go through.

I forgot to mention that when I posted a reply to this thread, it went almost instantly. This is only an educated guess, but it seems that multi-page threads are worse than most.

Perhaps you have corrupted indexes in your database, it's happened to me on a number of occasions, with similar results.

Glad to read it here..I thought maybe this PC had picked up another bug. But mostly says a duplicate of former post, which it is not..

I too have noticed a slow down as of recently. And on more than one PC, so I know it isnt the PC or net connection cause it does it at work AND home and browsing the rest of the WWW is just fine

Just had one that took forever. Posted to the Ford 2N-1945 thead of Cleon Rogers. It took about 20 seconds to complete, but at the bottom said:

Page generated in 0.07623 seconds with 16 queries

It's been happening to me.I thought it was the update I installed on my phone.Trying to reply was taking forever.

Maybe it's just taking longer for the 'big brother' computers to scan all the threads looking for 'objectionable' posts before allowing them to be applied.

I just had another one. Took about 15 seconds for it to go through. The bottom of my chrome browser said "waiting on TBN". After 15 seconds or so, when it loaded, it said "page generated in .06xxx seconds..."

Something is definatally going on. I have 30M internet and it is usually instantaneous:thumbsup:

Edit: this post took ~20 seconds to go through on my end. But as soon as I clicked submit, I opened a new tab of TBN and my post showed up in the new tab, while the tab for this post was still in the "stall" mode. Hope we can figure this out

I've found that if I give up on waiting, and hit "Submit" again, it'll tell me that would be a duplicate of what I just posted, but that takes care of it and it returns to normal.:laughing:

That's what I've been doing, too.
