True. Since I bough the Woods 1050 from a local farmer, the deere dealer has no skin in the game. Yet he tells me not to worry. Why would he do that if there was a chance that this 6000 lbs breakout force hoe would tear up the tractor?
My sales guys has been doing this for 20 years and everyone at this dealership comes to him when they can't figure something out. I tend to take his advice. I should get something in writing I suppose.
I do not want to crack my 5085M in half! Then again, I might just be done with all the heavy duty stuff by the time if finally shows up!
That's more breakout force than the 595 hoe has...
I can certainly respect both the experience your salesman has - as well as your working relationship with him. Nonetheless, I'd want it in writing!
As a side note - I'd venture that even with more than 20 years of selling equipment - JD or others; he's probably only seen a handful of backhoes on farm tractors.
Wouldn't guess that the failure or damage would be nearly so catastrophic! More likely would be that you'd break or crack the top link bracket and maybe damage the mounting holes in the transaxle housing.
Or damage the lower 3pt lift link attachment on the transalxe housing. That could be bad but not fatal - it's "only" money - after all.
'Course you could always use the money from selling the backhoe to rent an excavator for those stumps!
I'd bet you could do those 2 acres in a weekend. No problem! JD 120 or JD 160 with thumb.
