They have too, so they can make money. Every car manufacturer has done the same thing... deny everything. Now if we can find an e-mail correspondence from kubota that acknowledges this "issue"...

I got the tractor completely reassembled today with the valve adjusted for a 0.006" gap between the set screw and the poppet valve. If the weather co-operates tomorrow I should be able to hook up a couple of different implements and try lifting and lowering to check smoothness and lift capacity.

I'm looking forward to being able to put the lift arms exactly where I want them during hookup without fiddling up and down a few times.

I was able to anneal the copper washers for the hydraulic piping, so the total job cost was a few liters of UDT to make up what I lost removing the pipe several times, and a bit of sealant for the transmission case cover.

Time spent would be in the area of 10-12 hours actual hands on, about half of that was yesterday's trial and error session with different valve settings.

If this fix works with no drawbacks, it'll turn the L3400 into an ideal tractor for our needs. Before it was like a pretty woman with an ugly ol' wart on the end of her nose

All I have within easy reach in the garage was the logging winch, the rear blade is about 200 feet away. When you're trying to drive standing up with one hand holding the seat switch depressed, 200 feet is like 200 miles.

I have a "before" video with the rear blade already on Youtube, so once I get things reassembled I'll take another "after" video with the blade attached for a better comparison of the difference.
