Snow? Heck, I took the blade off and put the plow on. This is one wierd winter. But my gardens are in great shape. It's been in the high 50's and even low 60's the past couple weeks. No snow at all and it is quite dry here in eastern Kansas.

well according to the farmers almanac it is.....haha

But even if it does snow a bit, i wont need the chains as there wont be any build up of ice here. There predicting temps into the 40's for the next 10 days here.

Well maybe next year. I figure ill pull in the plow and snowblower to paint touch-up any rusted areas and put them away for the season ... but ill wait for a few weeks just in case. If we dont get any real snow buy the last week in Jan here...it wont happen. We always get all our snow anywheres from Oct15th thru Jan 30th....thats just how it is here in N. Idaho

I'm holding out for spring storms before I put anything away. We've been known to get pretty significant winter storms up through Easter in the past. Of course, according to the Farmer's Almanac, this year will be a continuation of last year's dry spell. I tend to pay attention to the Farmer's Almanac, as it tends to be about 80% accurate for long term forecasts.

Still not putting anything away yet.

I'm about ready to put away the blower and get out the zero turn. We are expecting record or near record temps the next two days (in central Minnesota).

Keep that snow up North, I'm rather enjoying this open winter..!! I'll take 40 to 60 degrees in January anytime..!! Great fence building weather..!!

Dry spell..?? We had the record for most rain this year, here in Central Ohio, since they've been keeping track. On the other hand..., sure beats a drought..!!

2 bonuses so far this winter: The heat bill has been very manageable and the hours are being kept off the tractor.
We don't slammed with snow as a rule, but last winter I used the tractor more in a one month period than I did in the previous 3 winters combined.
That Kubota is just fine sitting inside and saving itself for spring!

I've been playing russian roulette with the snow....or snow machine. Have yet to take off the loader, bolt on the front hitch, or install my new cutting edge on my blade, and install the blade.....just keep "putting it off"......

My view is that that is only 1 bonus.
Heat bill:
Hours off the tractor:  = NO SEAT TIME!!!! :(

Agreed.

I've used the blower only 2x this year, and neither was a real challenge for the machinery.

I enjoy the winter, if it's cold and clean. This sloppy crap, where there lakes barely freeze and there's no snow is not what I'm used to. I'd love a couple of real squalls, batten down the hatches, stay at home days.

I've only been to Chaumont in the summer (Crescent YC). I'm surprised to hear you don't get much snow - I guess it's because you're just far enough around the end of the lake, up the east end, to avoid the lake-effect snows that Oswego gets.

No relief on the heating bill as temps have been near average, December was actually 1 degree cooler than Dec 2010. Snow actually has some insulation value. We are short on precipitation overall, not just snow.

Cold temps, high winds, and no snow mean higher heating bills for me; or a lot more wood burned in the fireplace to take the chill off.

Worse, the driveway melts too quickly and often, leading to mud ruts that then refreeze. Worse than 4 wheeling on a lava bed.

I've only got to plow one time this year and it really didn't need it, probably did more damage to the gravel drive than good but it was a lot of fun. Still crossing my fingers for a lot of snow. I love winter!
