ANOTHER fire fighting query

We had an oil tank farm back home that kept a trailer with class B foam stashed nearby. We did a training with them twice a year. The reality was if they had something big we had nowhere near the resources to contain it and hoped there teams would get there fast.

On a side note about the winter, lots of bigger departments up north have dethawing units with big hand held torches to warm up couplings, ladders and so on.

The only ones I've ever heard of are in service with the FDNY. Never seen any close up pictures of the equipment on them...

Lots of great info through this thread, but one thing I would add - Don't delay calling 911. It is a lot easier to send the FD home never having used their equipment, than it is to really need them on a rapidly growing fire and never having called them. Stay Safe Everyone!
