A buddy mentioned finding a hydraulic motor in a house he was cleaning out. I mentioned I like hydraulic things for my tractor so he said "here" :thumbsup:

Can anyone help ID what he stumbled on?

I am not positive but I could send you my Address so that you could get rid of that terrible thing.. :)

Pretty sure it is the powerhead off of a Kanga Auger. Like a Toro Dingo type auger head. Quite an expensive chunk if that is what it is.

In all seriousness if you want to get rid of it cheap, my buddy just lost (literally, lent it out and the motor fell of the trailer) his, he bought a new one, but still has the mount plate etc.

I think you are right! It looks like it is from this:
[kanga files]

Ironically, I have a rock auger sitting on the premise...but no drive-method for it.

Any ideas what the specs on this thing might be?

Not really, but I think you could look up what a dingo, Kanga or similar produces, (I have not looked yet) and that would give you the spec I guess. I am thinking about 5 GPM but I may be way off.

Sounds like you have a drive, now make a bracket to hang it from your bucket and plumb it in with a diverter and you will be digging holes.

Already have a 3rd function for the grapple. 13gpm. I'd feel more comfortable if I knew the specs this thing was capable of. I am not sure what happens if 13 gpm are applied to something designed for 5 gpm. Maybe it just spins faster...maybe it make many little pieces of itself?

Yeah, I found "Digga" from the label on it too. However, I can't seem to find any info about this particular item on their site. I am going to try emailing them.

You don't need to worry about the flow. As long as the pressure is correct it will take only the flow it needs.

A Dingo TX525 puts out 13.8gpm so your flow should be perfect.

It will over rev at flows higher than its spec. Just run the tractor slower to reduce pump output flow to the correct range. If you need to run the tractor engine fast for some reason while using the motor you would need a flow divider.

Oh man, I am SO excited! I am going to temp hook it up to the 3rd function just to make sure it works. If it does, I'll have to figure out what to do with it. I could run it through the 3rd function and come up with some sort of bucket mount or SSQA mount...or I could go "nuts" and make a backhoe mount and plumb in a rear remote that could double for a future thumb!

Who's excited? THIS GUY! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

You might want to run some fluid through it before you hook it up to your tractor hydraulics to clear out any crud in it. Do like they said pour some fluid in it and rotate it by hand to pump the junk out. No sense in introducing more contaminants into your tank.
