No snow for up here. I haven't dug up the Dahlias yet, maybe this weekend but they are still blooming so maybe I'll wait a few more weeks.

Same here, leaves are not down yet. I'm thinking bunch of trees likely to come down with this one.

I have generator gassed up, outside and ready to go.

Still haven't installed my hose heater yet in the tractor.

Need to pull snowblower out of back of shed.

Haven't even fired up the leaf vacuum yet.

This is crazy.

Rushing to have water blown out of sprinkler system this morning.

Snow has started in NE PA (9:50 am)! Some areas supposed to get 12" ... record snow.

I didn't realise how rare October snow is here in CT, cause I remember a couple dustings, but only 3 times in 85 years. 2 were less than .5 inches and the other was less than 2 inches.

Now they're saying +6" for the entire state with the hills getting +12"

Took my snow blower out the shed and of course it was filled with mice and seeds and nesting material

The wind is supposed to be significant as well, looks like the perfect "storm"
for power outages.

you can have it. But i did spend the day putting on the rear power pack and routing the hoses to the loader. so now im all ready. Ill leave the blade/blower off till the junk falls though.

I haven't even started on the leaves yet!

I'm gonna have less leaves in the future, alot of tree damage in my yard, branches and small trees down all over :(

Compared to just a few small branches during hurricane Irene :confused2:

It started about 1:30 pm in Central MA. I spent the morning taking the backhoe and FEL off and putting the carryall and snow plow on and sprucing up the tractor as I went along. When we got out of church tonight at 6 pm it was snowing and blowing pretty hard with many branches down and many sagging trees. I had to stop and pull three large branches that were across the road on the way home. Now the lights are flickering and the Direct TV has no signal (like it never has on rainy or snowy days). I think I am going to sharpen the chainsaws as a precaution.

here in central Pa. not to bad, heavy wet snow maybe 4" on the ground would have been a lot if the snow was a little drier.Amounts would have been double or more for sure. Power flickering off and on but ok for now.I beleive worst is over for us just small flurries now at 9pm. I think I'm just going to let it melt plowing it will really make a mess out of my gravel driveway. Good luck to the rest of you.

My wife panicked!!
She was suppose to go to a friends wedding up at Williamsport Saturday.
We headed to our cabin Friday night as we got closer she was having cold feet  we got to the cabin at 11:00PM after a 5 hr drive she said lets just close it up for the winter and drive back home:eek: and I'll mail the present to them.
What momma want momma gets I drained all the water hooked her jeep up to tow it home she cleaned the frig and cubards out and put all the other stuff away for the winter in record time. and made the treck back home it was just starting to snow at 1:00AM when we left the mountain.

We got a solid 8" in the south central (York) area...cleaned the back porch off twice. 3" first time...4-5 inches the econd time. Now we have 3-3.5 inches to clean off. That comes to between 8 and 9 inches.
Lost power at about 1100 this morning...with the tractor stuck in the garage!! Oh well...it'll get plowed on Sunday. Just came back on a few minutes before I typed this (2245).
I think we lost one tree or branch in the drive, but the limbs are hanging so low out there, I can't really tell at this time.
Just think if this had been a dry snow...we'd be looking at 15-20 inches.

Glad to see you got your power back. And it looks like you got more snow than the forecast that WHP put out yesterday morning.

The York TV station predicted 5-9 inches, the Lancaster station predicted 4-8 inches...we're on the upper end of the predictions.
50some thousand lost power in York County (mostly southern York County). We were pretty prepared (coffee in the thermos, battery lanterns out and ready). Even got 5 gallon of diesel on Friday and moved both vehicles away from the garage (this morning) in preparation of plowing...should have got the Deere out then, but it was still pretty early.
I was telling my wife about a 3PH generator on Craigslist...25kW. I missed that one, but I think I'll be keeping my eyes open the next time one shows up.
Although my wife hated this outage, the dog and I enjoyed every minute of it! First snow for the dog...

ADDED 2011-10-30:
A few pictures taken after the snow...
