Extra Vibration problem on gc2410

I recently purchased a Massey Ferguson GC2410

I just finshed doing the 50 hr on it and now when I use the backhoe and have the RPM's above 2000 it seems to have allot more vibration and noise when I have any of the cylnders retracting I dont see the problem when they push just when they retract

I dont rember this before the 50 hr

I dont run it allot over 2000 and it seems to be fine under 2000 RPM

any ideas on this

have you had the backhoe off recently?

could be some air in the system that can take a little while to work out.

If you put Permatran in it, I don't have an answer. If you used something else, I can tell you I have read where people have sometimes had issues as a result.

Dealers do not always sell people Permatran.

I Checked it was Permatran

I'm still investigating, I have the same issue and I call it the hydraulic shudder. It started out on just the backhoe now it's in the drivetrain. It was pretty bad especially backing in reverse until I changed the hydraulic fluid to CASE brand permatran. It still does the shudder but not as bad as before. I havent hooked up my backhoe since but I will in a couple weeks.

I am probably wrong but I think it might be a univeral joint in the main drive shaft. The shaft, I noticed, constantly turns even when your not going forward or reverse. I will have them look at it in a couple weeks, at least I hope to get it in writing as my warranty runs out soon.

cdaigle-- let us know what you find out! This has been a persistent minor annoyance on a few 2300s, mine included....

The shaft is going from the engine to your hydro unit that has the hydro fan on it?
I is supposed to turn anytime the engine is running, that is what runs the hydro unit and all.

Did you clean the suction filter? When I cleaned my suction filter I almost put it back in when one of the o-rings, I noticed, fell on the ground. Are you sure "both" o-rings are on it?

Thanks Wacky-yes I knew that :) The vibration happens, more so under load, but it also happens when idle. My thoughts were-since the drive shaft is always turning, even when idle, it may have a bad or ceased u-joint which may be causing the vibration. Pure speculation on my part though. The dealership and MF telling me its normal is unnacceptable-one of these days I will buy a camera and film it.

I finally found out what the problem was the dealer found that from the factory the two retrun lines from the backhoe where missed labbled

The return and return to sump where swapped

So when I changed the hydralic filter I got some air in the lines and it couldnt get rid of the air

Yes, very interesting. Seems to me I remember someone else had that same problem-- the hoses being mis-labeled with the colored tie-wraps. Glad you got it fixed!
