I always finish up by hand rakeing. I actually enjoy that.

that's a good point about feathering. That can be done with the BB. After the box is full and you get to a spot where you want to dump, I raise the BB up just a bit and let the dirt slide out of the bottom as I drive along.

Is any of this road a moderate to steep grade? If so, dragging or blading could separate the aggregate from the binder. Beware that this could wash out quickly, so compact if necessary.
