At the local dealership, they have a 2010 Turbo Diesel, brand new, sticker price 40k, asking price stuck on the windshield is 30k. Its a regular cab, long bed. Not loaded, but not a stipper either. That seems like a deal, and I almost wish I was in the market, but I think my wife wouldn't be too keen on the idea since we just bought a Challenger. They also have a loaded crew cab that listed for 50k and they are asking 40k. Are they just marking down last years truck or is this some kind of deal on the diesels since they aren't selling?

Is it 2wd or 4wd? Auto? 3/4 or 1 ton? To me, you can buy that truck for 24-26, especially now that it is almost 2 mondel years old (the 12s hit the lot in the fall). My friend bought a 2007 1 ton reg cab dual wheel cummins w/ a 6spd brand new for 27. The local dodge dealer, every september, sells 3/4 ton 2wd crew cab dodges, cummins w/ a 6spd manual, for 25k. He usually has 8-10 in stock. Walk in with 26k cash and I bet they sell it to you.

I will stick to what I said. Hit them with 26. They would be fools to not take it, esp. with the 2012s right around the corner

I agree. They are not selling right now. Nothing is, GM and Ford included.

Guys, I don't know if I can agree about auto sales not selling in my area of Roanoke, VA. I've been lurking on the lots for the past 6 months looking for a deal. There are some incentives right now but nothing great. All of the car lots are down on inventory and some of the vehicles are moving off the lots fairly well. The used market is out of sight right now in Virginia. 2006-2010 diesels are selling in the mid to high 30s. A dealer just sold a 2006 Dodge 3500 quad cab DRW 4x4 manual with the 5.9 for 35k with 20,000 miles. You can't find a used low mileage Duramax anywhere. There is a great shortage of used vehicles in my area. I can only hope to see a price like you see in my area because I will be all over it if I can find a crew cab.

A friend of mine has found a new left over 2010 4wd extended cab for 10 k off sticker .I think he said the price was 38 k. his truck was destroyed by 1 of the tornados we had in April. It's a stick shift

I regularly see 2011 Dodge trucks in my area stating 10k off of the retail price. Realizing that playing with prices is par for the course, I would think that a 2010 should sell for even more off of the price.

I'm not surprised about the heavy discounting. When I bought my 06' new in Feb of 07' it was originally 46k and marked down to 33k.

I have an '05 (3500 SRW Quad Cab Long Bed, CTD, 6 speed "Big Horn" model) which we bought new. It stickered out at like $54K .... I paid $36K or $37K ....

Doesn't get driven much .... as of today it has less than 11,000 miles on it :confused2:

Two more payments and it's paid for :thumbsup:

If its 4x4 that 5.9L Cummins would bring what you paid for it today in my neck of the woods. Guys love the Dodges with manuals and the 5.9L

Fords they want the Torque Shift Auto Tranny.

Thats not un-common for a 5.9L equipped truck... Especially an 06 model.
The 07.5 and up with the 6.7L engine do not hold their resale as well.

As for the OP question, I would offer about 23-25 for the truck...
