TBN's "Please Join" popup during login ...

That stinkin' thing! I will have entered my user name & be about 1/2 thru entering my password when that popup interrupts my password typing & I can't tell which part of my password is entered, as in where I need to continue typing to finish it correctly before submitting.

Can this be altered??

Even if its appearance was delayed by 3 or 5 seconds, that would work.

Yes, it most certainly can. Perhaps with a group effort we could get a few things fixed. I recently went through a, 'Please login', to 'Thank you for logging in', to 'You are not logged in'... Became a circular thing. I was gnawing on the keyboard by the end of it.
It's not fair the error message,
"If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." always ends up in Bri's lap. She has been more than polite to the ramblings of this old programmer. The issues are not the realm of an admimistrator - they are programming issues.
It just needs to be stated, users of a site are the life blood. Number of users equates to $ charged to advertisers. No one is performing the upkeep of this site for free. Out of respect for the user community there are areas to be addressed.

I logged in several years ago and never had to re-login again... I would be hard press to remember the password... since it's been so long ago.

Do you click "remember me" box? or is this public computers you are talking about?

PS. Ditto, +1, yes... to Firefox and Ad-blocker.

Yes, but I think I may have another setting that overrides it, like "Delete History Upon Exit", or something like that. My comp used to stay logged in all the time like yours, but I got a virus of some kind, & it doesn't want to stay logged in anymore, even when I check that box.

Besides, if I keep my comp logged in all the time, some unscrupulous individual could potentially log on as me & post tractor stuff as though I know what the heck I'm talking about ... Eww, wait, I just found my perfect excusefor when I do that!

The "X" to exit the pop-up sign in is covered by something else....so I've got to totally exit the site and try to beat the dang pop up again...and again, until I beat it. Really frustrating!

I also stay logged in all the time on my computer. I do have to log in on other computers at other times but since I usually enter from a google search, the pop up comes up within 10 seconds, then I log in. During the mean time, I read a post on the page that google leads me to and usually end up reading the entire thread. :laughing:

I accept cookies, rarely clear them, and the popup still shows up most times here and EVERY TIME OVER AT LMF.

Irritates the BLEEP out of me too.

I have my browsers, both Chome and IE8, set to remember my login and I never see the pop-up. YMMV.

Haven't read this whole thread, but the TBN Please Join gets covered by the Kioti ad, and all I can do is get out of TBN, and star over again. I suppose this is not a big deal but it is aggravating. Know very little about cookies with the exception of the eating kind. I do clear my computor regularly. (Not because I know what I am doing, but my computor has a program that does it for me.)
