Does anyone have plans for a quick hitch to trailer adaptor? I have a Speeco quick hitch and want to be able to hook up my quad trailer, boat, and travel trailer for moving arouind the yard without taking off the quick hitch. My brother-in-law owns a steel fab company so he should be able to make one but I would like a set of plans to show him what I would like to have made. Below Is the type I have for those not familiar with what the Speeco looks like.

Yea, that would work. Do you know if I can get plans for something like that? It would be a whole lot cheaper to have it made at my brother-in-law's shop than to buy and have it shipped to me.

There have been several pics posted of these hitches on various threads within the last couple months. Will do a search to see if any pop back up.
They are pretty simple, but I usually just raise the 3 ph and attach to the drawbar.

How about a cross drawbar with a ball mounted in it and a have your BIL make a cross drawbar lock similar to the one shown but that would engage your speed hitch to keep the drawbar from rotating?

I made a couple of these using a pre-made receiver, drawbar from TSC and a couple of pieces of angle iron.

I have no "plans", I just eyeballed everything. The first picture is how I built it the first time, the second and third is after I re-did it to hold suitcase weights.

"Thumbs up" on the suitcase weight holder, Kenny.

Runner, are you using those brackets on each side for the trailer safety chain?

Thanks, It's modeled after the Heavy Hitch

Looks good, Kenny.
What is the wall thickness of the 2" square tubing?
I assume the rest of it is made of 3/8" x 2" flat bar stock?

Thanks

If you do a search for quick hitch, you'll find lots of mods including welding a reciever to the quick hitch frame. Happy hunting.;)

Kenny, Could you do one of those in Bobcat Orange or Charcoal so I could buy one form you. Afraid tractor would refuse to lift it if was green :laughing: Great looking hitch, I like the suitcase weight idea especially.

in my own humble opinion, which no one but I seam to value, i would rather go with a ball up front on the loader.

I tried the rear action, but it was harder to maneuver around obstacles.

With my loader mounted ball, i can move anything ....with amazing accuracy. I move a 29' gooseneck trailer into my 30' barn with 2" in the rear and 4" in the front and 3" on top of spare room. never get close to hitting anything.

GRS - makes more sense to me. Having the steering axle (front) as close to the ball as possible allows you maximum maneuverability and stability. That's how tractor/trailers are designed - short tow vehicle, long trailer. There's a reason for that. Plus you get to look forward and not over your shoulder all the time...

No, those are for mounting my boom pole.

Mine isn't pretty, but it was cheap. i bought a drawbar, welded a used receiver hitch assembly and a piece of scrap channel iron for the top link. cost was under 40 dollars. Paint would cost too much...

Doesn't have to be pretty to work.
I may do something like that myself.
